Brawl doesn't deserve a 100%

Here are my thoughts about Brawl.
It's a great game I like it, however I don't understand why some crazy japanese game review "paper" would give it a 100%. The game is good, but it has flaws for those of us who played Melee and expected some NEW stuff from Brawl.
1) Nothing really new, except Subspace Emissary adventure and new characters ! But besides that there wasn't any big new thing added. But its ok, because the game looks nice anyway
2) Too many characters that are similar. I said SIMILAR. I dont like how Falco, Fox, and Wolf have the same final smash. Also I don't like how Toon Link has the same final Smash as Link, and they also have very similar moves.
2) Some final smashes are obviously better than others, and it is not fair. For example Sonic's vs Pikachu's final smash are set up about the same (fly around and bump into your opponents) well, if tried both smashes you would noticed that Sonic's final smash is way more powerfull and more accurate than Pikachu's. Another example : King Dedede's Final , well it is only average... unless you have 3 other opponents on the all at more than 100% damage. And finally Donkey Kong : Unless you are on a small map, this final smash won't hurt anyone that is not around and by the way Donkey can't more when he uses it. Good luck hitting anybody who is smart or if you don't have a teammate.
3) They had what, more than 5 years to make this game. I guess they rather focused on better graphics, mini movies from the Subspace emissary, New characters + new moves, ,new events, new game modes (boss battles) and finally making final smashes for all characters. Some of us may care about all this new stuff, but it takes more than that for a great game.
Right now I would say that I am as happy as if Melee came out so I guess it is not too bad, but still, I'd say that I expected a little bit more.
Nintendo should stop getting feedback from kids and listen to some people who played Melee and can really tell them what to do/improve.
I think there could be more to add, but I can't tihnk of anything right now.

The only major new things imo are stages, music, custom stages and shared target tests. The latter i liked better than I thought.
That annoys me too especially about Starfox and f-zero characters. Both have pretty lame made up specials, I would change cell's (i'm nicknaming cell link cell.) specials.
I was thinking about number 2-2 yesterday. Falcon has and instant ko his regular b can be an instant ko too. Yet Dk, rob, and meta knight have too be closer and to get close to a ko knight must have foe pretty high. Dk and Rob would probably require around 350%, then sonics is better and lasts at least twice as long as wario.

Seriously I should replace sakurai, he has warped ideas and they translate into his games, I swear you'd wonder how it could get better.

Well, I agree. No game deserves 100%, if they ever made one it would be pointless to keep making games.

(Edit) Oh yeah and with the Final Smash moves, I do agree some are better than others but thats a way to balance out characters. Cuz think, I think Meta knight and Ike are pretty good. Ike's moves are strong and have long range, and Meta's fast and annoying as crap so thats why they even it out by giving them not so great Smash moves. And then look at Snake, he's good but kindof hard to use all his moves so thats why his Final is so freakin good haha.(Edit)

But I think it lived up to the pedigree that the smash bros. games have, it brought more to the table. Yea and not enough new stuff? What about the vault basically its all new stuff in there except the trophy "idea" is from melee but theres more.

So I wouldn't blame it for not being an entirely new game, besides, next to all the fluff Smash games are about the awesome four player brawls right?

I completely get what your saying about the clone characters but it's a part of all fighting games unfortunately.

the only reason beacause some people dont like brawl is because they cant do their ''combos'' from melee anymore. as well as ''wavedash'' and some other tricks.

if you dont like brawl cause what i just said just read this:

brawl is a brand new smash! not a melee with new characters, modes, stages etc..
its a begin from zero to everyone, we are all noobs by this moment as well as we were when melee was released.

i remember when melee was released, i didnt care anything about combos, wavedash, tricks. i just played normal and it was so fun alone or 4 players.
well right now its the same. we will get used to brawl in a few time.

*agrees with all those people*

I have to say though, if they could've gotten rid of some characters (AKA JIGGLYFLUFF COUGH HATE HER) and put in some sweet characters (Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia? How about Waluigi since we've got Wario? And what about Daisy with a soccer uniform? Luigi needs lovin too you know! And what about Dark Samus as a character? That'd be sweeto!)

So yeah. I dunno, some might be clones, but...*shrugs*

Ike is basically a revamped Roy and Lucario is basically a Mewtwo clone. It happens. lol

I agree with putting in the most epic character of all time (LLOYD!!!!!),
but jigglypuff must stay in...
Jigglypuff is a classic character and shes popular in japan.
Nintendo has to think about all people! not just americans :)

Also... ROY and IKE are very different...
IKE is a heavy class character, I have no idea where you got that they were alike (roy is very fast..)
Also The only thing thats practically the same is the down B.

Lucario is kinda mewtwoish but plays a lot different.
Lucario Moves on his feet instead of floating, and his attacks get WAY more powerful the more damaged he is.
The charged shot is almost the same except that it doesn't do crazy spirals when shot.

LLOYD FTW!

Just because Ike has incredible strength and is heavier doesn't make him like roy, he's like 4 times stronger than roy and as slow as a turtle, Roy had the most power of a sword user and was incredibly fast and agile, roy was God like.
Ike is balanced.

Eh. Seriously though, Ike is Roy, a little slower with more power(as said). Yeah, their down B's are the same, but Ike's charge B is Roy's going vertically instead of horizontally(did you notice they both take damage when it's fully charged?). His side-B IS considerably different than Roy's, but I find Ike and Roy very similar in their playing style (though Roy had a bit more speed which allowed him more agility).

Jigglypuff, Iglybuff, Wigglytuff...it wouldn't matter...I haven't met anyone who's character of choice is Jigglypuff. xD

And as for Lucario, this is true that he walks instead of floats, and he does get more powerful...but he's a lot like Mewtwo.

I'm just saying a lot of the characters were just revamps of others is all. Look at Toon Link (Young Link OR Link), Wolf (Fox and Falco anyone?) and Lucas (Ness, people, NESS).

...but Lloyd would've freaking ROCKED. Nuff said. xD

Lloyd could be soooo original...
Dual sworded with all his attacks from ToS...
Like double demon fang, Rising Falcon, Super sonic thrust...
I just wish they made more games like ToS...

They'd make Rising Falcon his Final Smash...or maybe he'd sprout wings and fly around beating people to death with his swords or something. Ooooooo that'd be SWEET.

I just got Brawl yesterday, and so far, it's the best game ever.
And Roy and Ike are vastly different. The only similarity I see is that they have swords and they are from Fire Emblem.

Lucas isn't a clone he's got pk freeze and has a rotten log instead of a bat. [/sarcasm]
I agree many of the new ones are very similar, but they have some differences.
they did change falco's normal attacks though.
