I see that those who make the sprite comics here cuts whiteness out from the sheet. Well, When I was making a comic, my sprites still had a white box outline around it, so it isn't that clear. How exactly do I cut the sprite out from a sheet from the outline instead of boxed? I still use Paint for now. I plan on making a comic based on my Pokemon game progress, and I won't be making it unless this question is answered. |

It's pretty simple. After you've chosen the copy area tool, simply look below the standard tool box and you will see there are two selections there, transparent and opaque. The bottom one is transparent, so pick that. Then select the color of the background as your standard color, and copy the sprite you want. Basically what it does is remove the selected color from the section you are copying, and makes it transparent. Usually, they make backgrounds of sprite sheets a standard pink, and not white, because a lot of sprites have white in them. If you have the transparency on white to remove the background, it will also remove the white portions of the sprite, so if your sprite sheet background is white, fill it in with pink before copying. Tutorial: 1) Select the Copy Area tool. ![]() 2) Select the transparency tool. ![]() 3) RIGHT click the color of the background with the color selector (tool bar) or with the color pallet at the bottom. It's safer to use the color selector, because if the color is just slightly off, it won't work. ![]() 4) Left click and drag over the area you wish to copy, then right click and select "Copy." Then paste wherever you want to.

Yep. That's how you do it. Also, DO NOT SAVE YOUR SPRITES AS JPEG'S OR BMP'S!!! I save them as PNG's. If you save them as JPEG's or BMP's, they become blocky and nasty, and even if you use the above method, they will still have this nasty white border on them that is a crap load to remove. |

EDIT: hold on, I followed the directions and it still does a pink block! Is there something wrong with copying to another paint worksheet? |

Make sure that pink is set to the background color. If it isn't that block will stay. |

Also. Like Linkmaster_233 said. Don't save them as JPEG's or BMP's. BMP's Also take up a lot of space for a picture. |
