In the distant future, human technology will exceed previously unheard of capabilities. While still within the boundaries of the 21st century, interplanetary travel is a common sight in this era. The addition of such great amounts of devices and equipment have given the citizens of Earth, as well as other planets, a great deal of opportunities. However, one such option rising far above the rest. No honor is greater than becoming the pilot of a Zealot, a type of large-scale robots. After many years of academy training, these mech jockies have developed into the model men and women with enhanced perception, physical endurance, and tactical knowledge. Once they have passed their examinations, pilots are sent to the gladiatorial colossiums, to begin their careers in mech combat. Accompanied by their team, each and every Zealot pilot will aim for their chance at a title: The status as the undesputed Shushou Champion. Of course, pilots will not be alone. Engineers are schooled at a young age to repair any and all damages dealt to the Zealot of their team, and even make improvements to the design of the entire mech whenever spare parts come their way. Additionally, pilots may hire a medic, which will keep track of their general well being and patch wounds, fractures, and other sorts of medical issues with the assistance of extremely advanced tools of the trade. Yet, the blood of the Zealot lies quite literally with the team's esper, who powers the mech entirely with the natural flow of energy running throughout their bodies. Without a solid squad, it is determined that a pilot will not survive in the battlefield. For many years, it has been a tradition to hold a multitude of Shushou matches on a frequent basis, becoming the most widely accepted sport in human culture to date. As soon as the winter break final ends, everyone knows that the battles between Zealots and their pilots are loaming just around the corner. As anyone would expect, with all war comes casualities. Yet, Zealot squads look past the possible fatalities, and onward to the battlefields. Termonology Shushou: The sport of fighting with Zealots, named after the Japanese word meaning captain or team. The rules are simple: defeat the opposing Zealot or Zealots by decapacating the enemy with any means necessary. However killing is strictly forbidden. Zealot: A gigantic mech that is used for gladiator combat. Many types of these robots are available, often as commerical models and makes, much like a early 21st century automobile. Captain: Captains are the leaders of a Shushou squad, and therefore in prime responsibilities for its organization and management. A captain may start their own squad, or be sponsored by a company or franchise, both being offically acceptable. In order to become a captain, one must have a business degree and is required to enter a training school specialized for teaching future captains. Thus, most captains come from upper class families. Pilot: The primary profession of the sport, which controls the Zealot of a team. A pilot must possess a special license to drive a Zealot, given after many years of extensive training and preparation. Because of their training, pilots have mastered the art of marksmenship and survival tactics, and have been highly disciplined in the art of combat with a myriad of weaponary. Engineer: A person skilled in the creation, repair, and modification of Zealots. Engineers often have their tools and materials given to them from large businesses in exchange for having the company's name or slogan placed on the actual Zealot, a procedure similar to the early 21st century sport of Nascar advertisment. Certification as an engineer takes many academic tests, as well as physical examinations to determine whether or not a person is fit for the job. Medic: A doctor trained specifically for the care of a Shushou squad. Because of the great demand for these practicioners in the sport, medics are usually only hired to teams with exceptional funding. As such, simply having one on the team is usually a show of great ability and wealth. Also, a medic is trained excessively in the art of cooking, and their knowledge of the martial arts is unrivaled. While having a medic is not required, it is amply advised that a team does so Esper: Though looking like a normal human, espers are anything but. At birth, some children suffer from an extremely high metabolic rate, of which is regarded as unhumanly. To keep the child alive, the child is given an injection of nano bots, which controls the metabolic rate through oral commands issued by the possessor. Unexpectingly, these humans are capable of controlling the energy running through their bodies, allowing them to project it outward an the form of an aura of pure energy. Realizing this, society named these humans espers, and have designed Zealots to harness the great energy within them as a method of alternative fuel, though this career is entirely optional. Because of the role of an esper, percentages mean everything, as the lesser amount of nano bots currently active increases the control of energy. On another note, an esper can use this boost of energy flow to temporarily increase their speed and strength exponentally, though prolonged use of such a tactic can prove fatal. Character Creation Name: Age: Origin: Profession: Biography: Appearance: Rules 1. No god modding. 2. No killing another character without permission. 3. No control over another person's character. 4. No person outside the esper profession may be given the abilities of an esper. 5. No unprofessional behavior. |

OOC: Should be fine. Though, you might want to include that you live on a moon, or orbiting colony of Saturn, since it is a gas planet. But, I'm probably just being paranoid.
Shiro: "Yes. And I would presume you are the captain?" Shiro crossed his arms, and turned his head away from Zihark. "What took you so long? Our team was suppose to meet up at over 30 minutes ago." |

OOC: Don't worry, you're not. I'll just put it in there. Zihrak looks at Shiro. "Zihark Farene, captain of Team Ace. The only part of the tema I have is the engineer and the medic. I'm looking for pilots, and since you only need two for the qualifying, I think, we'll be alright for now. Plus, traffic was murder. Apparently, a car turned over, so you get the rest." He walks over and gets on his motorcycle. "Get on." |

Zihark put on his MP3, and it began to play "3s and 7s". "Hold on." He stated the bike up, and were speeding down the highway. After an hour, they finally reach a regular sized building onthe side of the road. Zihark parked it in the lot, and got off. "Home, sweet home.." |

Zihark smiled. "You haven't seen anything yet." He wlaked in, and it appeared to be a dark room. He flipped a switch, and a scanner showed up. "It's an eye scanner. I'll just register your eye into memory." |

Shiro: "Eye scanner? Is that really necessary? Seems like a normal house to me. Wait! Do we even own a Zealot yet!?" Shiro was starting to get a bit anxious, not knowing whether or not this Shushou squad was even offical or not. |

Zihark smiled back. "Safety precautions. You're reistered now." He showed his eye into the scanner, and the wall opened, showing a door. He opened it, and inside was a mansion. "Putting a place like this in the mountains was a good idea. If you could, just wait in the meeting room while I get the team" he walked off and disappeared. |

Shiro walked in, let go of his small pack in his hands, and simply stood there, gazing on at the great size of the place. He had never actually seen a mansion before, besides in magazines that he couldn't afford. Shiro had lived in a lower middle class town, and the kind of wealth mesmerizing him at the moment had never even crossed his mind before. |

"Amazing place, isn't it?" Zihark and two other people came down from an elevator. "Shiro, this is Ein, my brother, and the mechanic, and Michelle, our medic. Ein, Michelle, this is Shiro, our new pilot." Ein: "What's up?" Michelle: "Hello" Zihark: "Come on, I'll show you your new Zealot" Zihark and Shiro walked to the docking bay. To the left was Zihark's Zealot. To the right was Shiro's. "Yours is on the right. Hope you like it." |

Shiro: "There is a funny story about that. You see... I'm not a pilot..." Shiro began to blush from embarrisment, and began to rub the back of his head. "I... I'm just an esper really. I couldn't afford going to an actual academy anyway so..." |
