Well, I finally got my Wii. Hurrah! It's sitting here right next to me with the little yellow light glowing like a freaking sun. Again, hurrah! And I have a bunch of fun games for it (including MP3:C, which has been consuming my life). And even better, to my great surprise, Pokemon Snap (a game I have not played since I was like, 7, but LOVE to death) is available on the Shop Channel! ...however... Two little problems. One, I think it keeps overheating. Anybody know of a good way (besides flipping it upside down and keeping the vents aired out) of cooling it down? I've heard there's a stand that uses fans to keep it cooler. And two... ...THE SHOP CHANNEL WON'T CONNECT. *cries* I've been on every other channel (I really like the Weather and News channels - I know if I'm going to die from hot, cold or terrorists immediately when I wake up in the morning - yay!) and they work fine. But I tried to get on the Shop Channel between 10-15 times and it simply will not work. Here's the...err...dilemna (Did I spell that right?): I click it. Yay. Sometimes it goes through and I see the opening screen, sometimes not. When it DOES go through, I'll try to buy Points with a credit card. I get to the screen where I need to type in my City, State, Zip and County, enter all that, click Ok... ...and it dies. Every. Single. Time. I WANT POKEMON SNAP! *cries* Help? Please? I love my Wii and I want it to be the best Wii that I can make it be! v.v |

What do you mean it dies? Disconnects? Wii Freezes? As far as overheating, there's not much you can do for it unless you wanna buy a cooler. Like so. |

To be, or not to be: that is the question. To die, to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. That makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all... | |

I end up with an error message. It's not always the same, but it constantly occurs. Would it be easier if I just got the adaptor for an ethernet connection? I've heard those are really nice and really fast compared to the WiFi. |

You could. Of course, if it's not a problem with the wi-fi signal, you just wasted $30. Does your Wi-Fi work on your computers? |

Well, it seems to. My sister's DS lets her play AC:WW no problem Wi-Fi-wise. And my Wii is connecting to the other channels (News, Weather...)...so I ASSUME it's not a big deal with the Wi-Fi. Oh, and one of the main error codes is 209543. |

I got: Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed. For information on accessing your router's settings, click here to select the brand name and model number of your router (if available). Check your router's broadcast settings to find out if it is set to "G", "B", or "Mixed." Mixed typically works best, but try all three to see if it improves the network connection to the Wii console. Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off. Wireless keyboards and mice may also cause interference. _____________ Anyway, sometimes the shop is really slow for me too while everything else works. I dunno why... If it doesn't get better at any point, just reset your router or something. If that doesn't work... I pity you. |

Ehhhh it's still not working well. I'll probably have to contact Nintendo about it (or just pick up the ethernet adaptor thing...). |
