Well, I'm sure when I talk about pains from the DS most of you will think thumbs, wrists, fingers or some combination of the above. But honestly that never bothers me even after many hours of play. What starts getting severe pains though is my neck. I'm not sure what causes it but it actually gets really bad. I've found the only way for me to get rid of my neck ache is to stop playing for a couple of days. The only reason I think I've never felt this on past handhelds is I never would play them 3, 4 even 5 hours at a time. Has anyone else experienced anything remotely close to this? |

No, not really. Craning of the neck can do that though. However, it sounds like you've not had a problem before. Maybe your old bones are getting brittle. But, the worst injury I've ever got from a handheld was a condition called Gameboy Elbow. It came from lying on my stomach all day with my elbows propping the Gameboy up to my face. |

To be, or not to be: that is the question. To die, to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. That makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all... | |

I also had problems with MPH at first. My hand would cramp up a lot. But then I perfected my method of holding the DS and I've never had a problem since. Other than that, my eyes start to hurt if I play too long... |
![]() Three times is a charm. However if you do it wrong the third time, you're a retard.

I'm only 22 .But, ya, I've had loads of injuries but never in the neck. I know arthritus (sp?) runs in my family and surfaces young, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I know my job doesn't help me any either. I have to look down at a desk half the day (I'm a draftsman in case you're wondering). |

Well, I'd suggest having one of those travel neck pillows to rest it on, sit upright, and hold the DS in front of your face. It may be uncomfortable on your arms, but it should help your neck. Oh, and since I can't leave a post without some added randomocity (other than RP posts)... ALL OF YOU SHOULD TRY SAYING CHIHUAHUA AS "Chi hoo-ah hoo-ah". It is AMAZINGLY FUN. |
