yeah, so what do you think will replace nintendo's portable cash cow? As you know they recently filed a(nother) patent in which motion sensing was used in the system. So will it be like a DS with motion sensing, or will it go back to the one screen approach?

personally, I think it'll be one big touch screen, but a big one on a swivel so you can turn it sideways to play new games, but vertical to play DS games, then of course it'll be with motion sensing and programs to do your taxes.

edit, this isn't entirly my idea, I think I read something kind of like this in another speculation site, but it is my best guess

The only problem I see with motion is trying to touch while turning.
I think it will just be thinner so it's like half as tall, have a sliding out top touch screen. It also will play all GB games. therefore have a deeper slot.

I don't really see how motion sensing would work for a hand-held. Since if you turn the thing the screen would also move. It would require very sensitive motion sensing so you don't have to be moving the screen much and such. The super sensitive motion sensing could also be rather troublesome.

motion sensors would be horrible considering all the ways people hold their DS's for different games and such
they wont go back to single screen (if they do that itll be a gameboy not a DS they said they are two different things so)

i was hoping for a handheld with multitouch capabilites. i was impressed with the way the iphone was desinged i think a game system could use somthing like that.

as for motion control, i guess they can make a sensor you put on your hand or the tip of your finger or somthing(hopefully not another power glove)

whatever it is, i hope it finally has a huge screen, thats somthing i'd like to see from a nintendo handheld

yeah, games with very particular motion sensing would be a big no no for car trips which eliminates half of the use (for me atleast)

i think if they do anything to the DS it shouldnt really be a big change to what is now

if they do id think its just best to upgrade what they have
like upgrade its graphical capabilities
and maybe figure out a way to make the touch less fingerprint prone

i like the size of the screen and if it was any bigger it wouldnt fit in my pocket so i like how it is

and seriously you cant go back to single screen and call it a DS
kinda contradictory there

YES!!!

they do, if nintendo doesn't do that soon it's going to hit them hard, I mean the first party DS games look great, but some 3rd parties are like GBC bad. All they need is a good resolution and better grahpics card, but they havn't really been stressing on graphics, almost to say that it's a bad thing which is bad itself. Games can be good without great graphics, but it can make that game so much better than it was before

Two touch screens, make them scratch resistant so there's no need for a stylus, accelerometers, better graphics, maybe a SD card reader for multimedia capability.

It should be sleek and purty like the DSL too, except even slimmer.

And it should be called... the Gameboy DS!

To be, or not to be: that is the question. To die, to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. That makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all...

I would love to see DS with better graphics and processing along with more capabilities.

Also the DS lite is a bit cheaper than the original (I think) so they could beef it up without making the price too much higher than the original DS'.

Not from what I saw. The original was $150 and I saw the DS lite at both $120 and $130.
