I wrote this little... poem story thingy a while back when I was bored and stumbled upon it while cleaning my computer out. Tell me what you think: In this dark hour of the night, boredom encroaches upon my frail being. This night cannot be over soon enough, once the beautiful sun rises above the horizon my energies will be refilled for a new day's toils. With the new day brings new life, and with new life comes new sorrow. New sorrow brings upon new happiness, which in turn causes sorrow. The world is a sorrowful place, in which none can be truly happy until they no longer live. Once one no longer lives, sorrow comes, leading to an endless spiral of sorrow and happiness. This is the story of the world, live your life to the fullest in an attempt to overcome the endless sorrows of the world that we are doomed to live in. |

*snickers at atheist comment* I'm sorry, but there was a point in history when "Atheism" became synonymous with "realism." ;D |

I'm not the greatest fan of poems, but it seems like the epitome of those standard poems you would see that are written by High Scholars who are trying to define themselves as individuals. Although it's a cliche' to think that all poems are bad. |

-_-' Don't be too tacful there. Wouldn't wanna come off so soft that we didn't know what you mean. Anyway yeah, sounds like something out of Ecclesiastes. Good poem. |

To be, or not to be: that is the question. To die, to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. That makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all... | |
