http://www.google.com/trends?q=ds%2C+psp&c...eo=all&date=all ^ look at that ^ Could someone explain it to me? DS has sold over 1,650,895 Nationwide, compared with the PSP's... 618,000. [worldwide figures for the DS are close to 10,000,000, and PSP's are around 2,500,000.] Its BLATANTLY obvious that the DS is [how can I describe it correctly] UBERLY WAAAAY MORE POPULAR than the PSP. Those figures are just the console sales.... not including the game sales Yeah, kinda unrelated, but, this school year so far, I found out: - I have a DS - 2 Kids who sits behind me in study hall have DS's, and MKDS AND MPH - Another kid in my study hall has a DS with MKDS and MPH - a kid on my bus has a DS with MKDS [so does his brother] - Paratroopa has a DS and rides my bus Thats nuts. Completely. I can have a 4 player MPH or MKDS match in like 2 of my 4 classes  [And yes, I honestly cant say I know 1 person in the ENTIRE school of 1400 kids who has a PSP. ;)] |

Dunno, but recently I haven't even been considering PSP as the DS's competitor. I don't really think it's a handheld gaming thing, it's competing more with the iPod than the DS. All it is is an expensive media center that happens to play games. btw, in my school, I think 2 people in my class have PSPs.... but then I go to school in Harrisburg and most people there don't shop around, they just buy for the heck of it and then complain about being broke. |

POPULAR, means whats more hip. the people behind you, are they cool kids? probably not. if you ask a random "hip" person, alot of them will say psp cause it can play games and movies. you have to remember that the people who decide on whats hip probably arent gamers themselves. |

Yeah, really. Every single guy in my class has a DS, save 2 people: One because all he likes is sports and the other thinks the DS is stupid because it has "bad" graphics. And he's a bad kid anyways. |

DS has sold 21 million actually, while the PSP has shipped 16 million. Which probably means around 10 million sold. It is pretty sad, that's media bias for ya. |

To be, or not to be: that is the question. To die, to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub. For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause. That makes calamity of so long life, for who would bear the whips and scorns of time when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover'd country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all... | |

your totally right! In my class for example most would rather have a PSP to look "cool".In my experience, people who would rather buy something to be cool are jerks. |

it is probably more popular becuase of the internet and movie type of thing. grade, our classes are split up. there are 2 different teams: orange and black. then, we have 5 different sections: p a s w e. then, in those sections are about 30 students. so i am saying that my grade has a lot of kids. but about half of my grade has a ds. and the rest wants one. they dont want a psp. (i did a survey) they all want the nintendo things. only a few want a psp becuase of the internet. and to look at porn on it. (i think that is rediculously stupid. i know someone who got a psp just to look at that stuff. it is gross.) |

I only know... a few others with a DS. And these are all the smart kids, the ones with futures. EVERYONE else has PSP's, if anything. Most of them, are hte druggies, emo's, jocks. Remember, the DS is the smart kid way to go. >_> |
