I started the game with automatic rep and began with SJ Earthquakes - I've got most of the major Latin American and European leagues running, with the aim of moving on from MLS to either a large S.American club or decent European side. I did ok in my first season, winning the Western Conf but lost out in the Conference semi-final to eventual MLS winners Houston Dynamo. I'm now starting my second season and am doing well again six games in, and hoping to have a run at MLS Cup and move on to a new club outside of MLS. I'm just wondering what sort of clubs people have progressed to after leaving the USA? I did apply for the Penoral job, which I thought would be a decent move as their the biggest club in Uruguay, but I didn't get it because they couldn't afford my compensation. My contract with SJ expires at the end of the season and it's unlikely I'll renew it. |

I usually didn't get anywhere until winning a few things. In my FM 11 save I too started with the 'Quakes, then went on to win the double my 1st year, then another double plus the pan-pacific championship, plus a good run in CONCAF CL. Wasn't until after that success that I received job offers from English sides. |

What level were the English sides - Premier League or below? I think I have a long way off from winning stuff - started second season well but have faltered since! |

Alot of Championship teams. I was dumb enough to take the Derby County job when offered. I got them out of the relegation zone and actually got promoted through the playoff. But I couldn't buy any quality players in the summer, and I had nowhere near the quality of strikers needed to be in the Premiership. It was a dismal experience. Good luck with the 'Quakes though! They were pretty good in FM 11 with the likes of Convey and McDonald. Sadly the FM 12 'Quakes don't have those kinds of players. |

In FM2010 I won 3 straight MLS Cups and 1 Champions League, after the CCL win I had turned down both Werder Bremen and Sevilla as I wanted to play in the Club World Cup with Toronto. Flash forward a year and I'm offered the Arsenal job in summer 2012, dream come true really. I got the France job too which was a bit unrealistic (nationalities were Canadian and Belgian). Should be a bit harder in 2012 to climb the ladder, especially starting on "sunday league" rep. |
