So, I was playing FM 11 over weekend, and in editor I gave about 40 amature and semi-pro clubs top class facilities, with the hope that the US would emerge as being trult one of the best side in the world, I went on holiday in the game and when i returned it was 2022. but us was far from best team in the world, they werent even particular good for concecaf, hadnt won a gold cup in the 12 years the game had ran, failed to qualify for 3 straight tournaments and one decent striker emerged in all that time. the likes of andy najar, omar gonzales were sitll around. what i want to know in fm12 is it different, can us actually produce young talent?

You're supposed to be able to change the youth rating for nations in the editor now. Try that and see if some better youngsters don't start coming through.

Really? In both FM 11 and FM 12 when I make my USA promotion/relegation league I always give the academy teams top notch recruitment and training facilities, and they consistently pump out one or two good regens (who I promptly snatch up) every year. After about a year in my training system at the club I manage at least one or two are in the USA sqaud, if not at least 6+ of them in the u-21/u-19 teams.

Starting the 2015 season. Numerous 150+ PA players have come through the draft (before I edited them, at least) but as a whole...haven't been too impressed. They're about as good as they are in real life with Klinsy at the helm (i.e. can't score worth a damn.)

Well considering the US has 15 players of CA of more than 125, and Mexico has 119...

I'm talking about editing the nation, not the clubs themselves. If you edit the United States, there should be a category for "Youth Rating" (or something like it, I dont remember exactly) that is editable on a 1-200 scale. You can set it to whatever you want and the higher it is the better the generated players from the USA should be. You can also edit the guidelines for some of the hidden attributes for regens, like professionalism and what not.

By the way, I believe the latest version of FMRTE allows to edit this rating as well.

Interesting, I'll have to take a look. I do know that editing youth level at clubs does help, maybe editing the nation rating makes chances of wonderkids higher
