Using SaintsCanada's Canada xml, I added a local regional amateur league, the Western Ontario Soccer League, and it's 4 divisions and cups, to the pyramid. It has promotion, relegation, a few cups, a number of teams that use 'B' squads further down the WOSL, and London City's reserves play in the first division.
Canada + WOSL and Cups | ALTERNATE: No Open Cup (realistic for 2010) (ONLY DOWNLOAD 1 OF THESE)
- WOSL Premier Division, Divisions 1-4 (Fourth East and Fourth West) with Division Cups and WOSL League Cup
- 200-odd WOSL personnel including all key staff
- WOSL stadia and some competition history (past winners etc)
- logos for key teams (place in my documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2011/graphics)
- Canadian Open Cup with all 130-odd active Canadian teams in the game with the 3 USL/MLS teams coming in at the last 16
- All-Star east vs. west game for the WOSL Premier Division
- Championship playoff for the 4th division east/west champions (the regular editor won't let both playoff teams get promoted)
For a truly Canada-centric experience, you can add my variation of SaintsCanada's American database with Montreal and Vancouver in MLS in place of San Jose and Philly, who are in the USL Pro with new boys Edmonton:
USA with changes
Because of the amount of new players and competitions with the Canadian file, it doesn't seem to work with other custom dbs (like Metal_Guitarists' transfer update) except for that American one. For the best possible experience, enable all Canadian, American, Puerto Rican, and Antiguan players.
I had put the CSL Mississauga and Kitchener teams in the database but scrapped the idea as they have no staff or players to add in, so I just left them in there with no division set. After a few years 'Sauga randomly appeared at the bottom tier of the WOSL, and Kitchener the next. I think relegation from the divisions above meant the game must have tried to force a 'B' or 'C' team out of the bottom rung and just looked for a team with no division set to replace them.

|I think as a long-term project I might redesign everything to have CSL as level 1 in Canada, PCSL as level 2 and then level 3 comprising various regional mens leagues - PCSL reserve, VMSL, AMSL, Manitoba Premier, WOSL, Quebec league etc. Also considering CSL and PCSL as separate divisions at the top level, with the top regional men's leagues 1 or 2 steps below there. If anyone wants to help let me know. From there we could think about a fantasy project redesigning the US nation rules to have promotion and relegation all the way from MLS down to the WOSL 4th division.|
