Mapping Out: Peach Creek As A Whole; It's no longer about the school anymore

Hmmm, I guess the creek MUST be connected to a larger body of water, if it's capable of flooding the cul-de-sac as bad as it did in 'Scrambled Ed'. As deep as the creek seems, enough water to flood the cul-de-sac up to the roofs of houses is kind of ridiculous otherwise...

Also, here's some junkyard screenshots I liked from 'Hands Across Ed'.

There's a crashed airplane in the junkyard...

A road from the junkyard's entrance to the factory. :]

I've been thinking that the large body of water comes from the waterfall, judging from how the "Park And Flush" sign from the trailer park made it's way to the Cul-De-Sac, plus that waterfall's gotta be connected to somewhere right? I'd say the ocean-like area around Mondo-A-Go-Go.

You mean the Lemon Brook waterfall? That's possible... And it's at least definitely connected to the giant swamp, if not the ocean as well.

Park n Flush is pretty much right behind Ed's house, I think we were just seeing the sign in the distance that time.

Seems awfully close to Ed's house to be something that's seen in the distance...

It's not like the background artists have ever been very consistent with drawing the distances between things. : P I'm impressed they remembered that Park n Flush is behind Ed's house, even if it should be a little farther away to account for the lane, creek, and construction site.

Well I still think it was carried by the big wave caused by the flood.

Come to think about it, it could've just been put there randomly by the background artists to show how deep the water became...

Don't want to double post, (then again the last post was over 7 months ago) but I found stumbled upon this shot. Any thoughts? Like now there aren't any houses on the other side of the cul-de-sac and how the dump is nowhere to be found...

I went back through the thread to find what I've said about that shot..

I was watching my parents' GIANT TV instead of the small one in my room and guess what came on?  'Gimme Gimme Never Ed'!  I can't take screenshots from my TV, but I used the DVR to rewind it to the shots we loved and took the best screenshots I could with my camera phone:

You can see more of the trunk outlines under the blobs we had previously questioned, and more delicious details, especially on the street opposite the cul-de-sac.  Of course, that's never drawn to canon, but it's still nice to know they cared enough to draw stuff in it rather than just take the easy route and make it all a silhouette blur.  I can also see that they DID, in fact, take the extra effort to make the land on the other side of the creek a faded green, rather than keeping it the construction site's purple color.  I guess Rethink Ave.'s just more green because that grass gets watered.

There are a lot of inconsistencies, but there are a lot of details missing from the screenshot you have.

Oops, the first post of 2012 in this thread and it's a topic already discussed. My bad.
It's finally gotten through my thick head that the area on the other side of the Cul-De-Sac has never been drawn officially...

Indeed, but I think the movie's depiction of it is detailed and finite enough to be considered the official design we've been waiting for. :)

I personally like being able to have this sort of thing left up to one's imagination; just think, if they spoilt everything about the place and what is relative to what, we wouldn't have much to discuss two and a half years after the show came to a close. Same thing with the subject of what's under Edd's hat and where Rolf hails from. If there are undisclosed topics within the show's world, we still have something to talk about, don't we? :P

Just throwing that out there. And yes, it's me who used to post all the time in this thread, like, almost two years ago now. Hello all.

Agreed, and hello! But for the purposes of this thread's goal of figuring out what makes the most sense, I feel the BPS design gives us the most information on that location, and also meshes well enough with other implied locations on that side of Peach Creek.

This doesn't have anything to do with mapping, but out of interest, anyone notice the Nebraska post card Jimmy got in The Eds Are Coming? Does he have any family out there or is it from his (or his parent's) friend? I saw that the letter itself was just a bunch of scribbles, but at least we know the Cul-De-Sac is in the 49 other states...

Yes, I find that interesting as well, although it doesn't give us a lot of information. I lean toward it being from family. I think postcards are normally sent from vacation spots, but if Eddy's brother is any indication, it seems like it's normal for EEnE characters to just send postcards from their current home to their families.

Also, I recall it being deciphered that the sender of the Nebraska card had the last name Curley, which would be a very fitting last name for Jimmy. I like to think Jimmy used to live there, since he was able to dream of the location on the card. And perhaps the caterpillar train could mean that he moved to Peach Creek by train.

There's Nebraska, and I imagine Peach Creek to be somewhere on the east coast.

If that's true I guess his dream turning into a nightmare might've been based on how he looked at his life after moving into Peach Creek...
Weren't there theories on how Peach Creek could've possibly been on the west coast since it was founded by Eddy's ancestors seeking new land?
Though IMO PC being on the east is more likely since Edd said the Eddy invasion was over three centuries ago (around the time the Europeans started coming to the states I reckon?).

No, the theory is that it's the east coast because Eddy's ancestors were pilgrims 300 years ago, which all adds up to being New England on the east coast. The movie shows more Georgia/Florida inspired locations but those states are below New England on the east coast and don't make much sense with all the snow in the winter episodes.

I think Jimmy's dream turning into a nightmare is mostly just a psychic prediction since we did see his dream come true. I'm not sure if we can psychoanalyze a moment of foreshadowing, and he generally seemed to like the kids in his dream so I think he's happy with Peach Creek overall.

Yet his dream didn't have Jonny in it for some reason...

Maybe he was also predicting Jonny's development at the end of the movie by excluding him from his group of friends... I find it interesting that his dream included the Eds in a way that suggests he thinks they're his friends but that they need a little punishment first, which kind of is what happens in the movie.

Interesting, that could be true. Jonny returned to normal at the end though didn't he?
I think it's also probable that the guys & gals at A.K.A. made a segment for Jonny but had to cut it for one reason or another.

Didn't you see the scene after the credits? If the show came back, Jonny would be a villain now because the Eds are no longer the kids' antagonists.
