I built this oh, a few months after buying this little pickup. Needed something to keep the contents dry and out of the weather. Also to keep the sand bags from being lifted out while parked at the store.

It is made from scrap lumber given to me. I used pressure treated 2x4's and some left over T-111 siding. Painted it black to match the truck color. Used c-clamps to hold it down. It's strong enough for me to stand on it, as well as big enough for me to place my 8 ft step ladder on it. It makes a nice mobile scaffold.

As to the lighting, I used Grote brand high count LED marker lights with reflex. I have lights (2 per side) all the way around. What you don't see is the tailgate strip light with sequential turn signaling. I used that to keep the OEM trailer plug from corroding when not in use. I used allot of die-electric grease before plugging in the tailgate strip.

That looks pretty sharp, mugrb. One thing for sure, your contents will stay dry. That was the only thing I didn't like about a P.U... Go pick up some groceries, and half way home, get smacked by that black cloud that was hiding behind the trees! smiley-10-sign

You did a nice job there... you have every right to be proud... smiley-10-sign

Thanx :biglol:

And the stuff is also locked too with the use of Pop & Lock - manual handle lock. It works pretty good.
