I don't know where you could find any pictures of those items. If I happen to run across some I will post it here though.

If he were a customer of mine I would have simply gotten him into a conversation about his hobby, making sure he talked about muzzleloaders and gotten him to talk about possibles bags and then asked what type of a muzzleloader and possibles bag is his favorites and why as compared to others?

People love to talk about things that they have great interest in.

You may have done an Internet search.

I typed in;

Possibles bags.

There is a lot of pictures that I found, and there is a very big variety of styles.

I did a shorter search on "muzzle loaders" and found a wealth of info, I didn't know there was as many kinds of muzzle loaders; antique, remakes, and many modern looking ones too.

In my way of thinking, one big hint of the type of muzzle loader and possibles bags he would like is found in the activity he takes part in because that seems to put him in a time period back in America's early history and that narrows down the search for pics some.

You can also look under antique muzzle loaders and also museums, some of those have pretty good pics. that you can copy/paste/scan and print to use for your design.

Since you are doing something very nice for the gentleman and want him to be well pleased with his present, you may choose to forget about it being a surprise gift and tell him what you are planning and ask him to just tell you what he wants engraved on the fur stretcher.

He may have a favorite pic. of both already.
I'm sure he will like what ever you do with or without his input though.

I know this was probably of little or no help, but not knowing for sure what type and approximate time of muzzle loader and possibles bag style in history you are looking for makes it difficult to find you some pictures, there are many many many on the Internet, including pics. Muzzleloader Associations post, most of theirs seem to be of group members doing things like throwing axes and hatchets and firing their guns in period clothes.

If you reply and give a bit more detail, I will help you, but can't promise you will be fully satisfied with what I find.

Wish I could have been more help, God bless your efforts,

Duke
