It looks like GoE will be joining the Army Wives to counter WBC. I'm hoping to take the day off and head down there myself. Details are still in the works. smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

VMI, I changed the title to your thread, I hope you didn't mind.

The so called Westboro bunch is not what I would call a real church and they definitely are not Baptist as the Baptist Association rejected them from belonging to it. They are just a bunch of wackos that got off on the wrong path.

Sir;
That is fine by me. You just just put common sense and logic to the issue. Something which escapes this wicked band of idiots. Thanks.

That is proof that they are not into religion or a church as Tony Snow was a religious person. He wrote a commentary about himself and his beliefs and it's posted Here in the Tony Snow topic.

Today the cult is facing the 'Army Mothers' of Ft Bragg. I'm on my way out the hotel door to set up at our rally site as soon as I sign off here. This oughta be interesting ... nobody in their right mind would get in the way of an angry mother ... regardless of her military affiliation

The NC GoE will be backing up the mothers so we'll have a good display of flags

Had a good day today ... over 300 patriots on the line (over half were women, wives, mothers, grandmothers) and only 4 or 5 cultists. Also participating were 1000s of cars, trucks, and motorcycles who turned this rally into one of the noisiest I have attended.

Posted Image

The cult with their obligatory flag desecration, signage, and young children.

Posted Image

A classic 20' flag with special made flagpole owned by Ross Bubba McDowell. He brings this to all rallies and parks his truck on the base of the flagpole. What a beauty!!!

Posted Image

Flags are ALWAYS a focal point at our rally

Ft Bragg mothers were well represented ... like I said there had to be over 100 of them at final count. Beautiful, dedicated, patriotic, vocal ... and a ton of fun!!!

Posted Image

A young GI (in disguise) and his wife offer a solution to the cult ... drink the koolaid

Posted Image

More wives and mothers with their flags

Posted Image

Some soldiers came by to see what the cult was saying. Actually we had quite a few GIs show up with us, some in uniform and some in civvies. The command must not have put out any orders re: attending the rally. It was great to see them.

Posted Image

A parting picture of our grand ol' flag.

I put my camera away early to concentrate on the rally so the pictures fail to show the over 300 people who showed up. It was a great day and another successful OP.

TD those are great pictures! I have been working this weekend at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and have had no time at all! Work has been hectic too, so I haven't had much time to post but I have been reading.

My prayers were with you all and I am glad there was such a turn out! I especially love the "Drink the Koolaid Already" picture!

Thanks CW and Sue ... your prayers were answered! The day actually had a rough beginning but as a whole was one of the most successful I rallies I have experienced. The attitude was 100% SUPPORT for and from our military ... the cultists even stopped their 'singing and chanting' and just lolled around waiting for their protest time to be over.

God bless y'all and everyone who was with us in thought and prayer ... United We Stand!!!

EDIT: Sue, btw share with us your experience with the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. They sound scottish, they sound like fun ...

The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games is a gathering of the Scottish clans. Many of the Scots settled in this area when they arrived from Scotland, because this area was very similar to the land in Scotland. Many intermarried with the Cherokee living in this area also (which is where my Cherokee/Scottish ancestry comes from!).

Each year on the second weekend of July the Games are held. There is a variety of music, from Scottish balladeers to more modern rock/Scottish bands. And there are the traditional Scottish marching bands (those really get my blood a-singing!). There are also traditional games, such as Caber Tossing, Wrestling, and others. There is a race, called the Bear Run, that goes from Linville to the top of Grandfather Mountain, which happens to be a mile above sea level. There is also a bike race, called the Grizzley, and a marathon race. All these events take place over 4 days. You see many in all manner of Scottish dress, from Braveheart types to Scottish nobility dress.

The organization I am Director of does the ticket sales at the gates/ There are 4 ticket sales gates for the games, and I get volunteers to man all these gates to sell tickets at all the events. It is a lot of hard work, but we get a good donation from the Highland Games to provide this service/ It starts for me on Thursday at noon and ends about 5:00 PM on Sunday. I average about 6 to 7 hours sleep during the 4 days, so when I finish on Sunday, I crash!

The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games has a website where you can see pictures and more info on the Games.A lot of work, but a lot of fun too!

Sue,

WoW ... the Highland games are certainly colorful and look like a ton of fun. They had something like this in Fredericksburg but I'm not sure if they still do or not. The owner of they gym I used to work out at was in the hammer throw and the telephone pole toss. He was a big'un but I never did make it to the games myself. Wish I had gone now

Thanks all ... if I were retired I would try to make more of these events. As everyone knows, its sometimes difficult to get off in the middle of the week when the boss expects his due

The cult knows they are well protected by the police so they taunt and they do that very well. They know how to push the right buttons and elicite a response from the opposing side. Sometimes I think its just a money-making game to them ... lets see how outrageous we can get and how anti-social and then watch the Cretans react.

The Ft Bragg Mommies handled themselves quite well against the scum. It was a ton of fun watching and listening to the mommies and a few grandma's too

I had a friend make a comment about the fires in CA.

For those not familiar with the situation here, one storm had over 7,000 strikes and started 2100 separate fires and has turned into a really bad fire situation.

He said that it is kind of odd that the largest fire in the history of the state was started out of thin air by a lightning storm, less than a week after the state started allowing homosexual marriages.

And I thought the WBN-A-C was just a few real wackos.

The amazing part is that my friend doesn't see anything wrong with the homosexual marriages. But still makes that type of comment.

Herb,

That didn't even cross my mind until I read your post. I'm not saying that's what happened, because we don't know. We do know that fires are common in California. I am saying that God's judgement does come on people. It happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and they are supposed to be an example to us.

2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, [fn1] putting them into gloomy dungeons [fn2] to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

We can't let the evil acts of the WBBC make us forget the truth that is in the Bible. They are hatefilled liars. The truth is that God doesn't hate sinners as they like to say, He loves them/us and sent His only Son to save them/us from our sin, if we let Him. But He can and will execute His judgement. The Bible says that God doesn't take pleasure in the death of sinners. He wants us to repent and be saved.

"Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his way and live? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore, turn yourselves, and live ye."--Ezek. 18:23, 32.

"Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways, for why will ye die, O house of Israel?"--Ezek. 33:11.

God would never tell his people to go to funerals and cheer at the death of a person. Or to yell taunts to the grieving family. We're supposed to weep with those who weep. The WBBC does take pleasure in the death of everyone it seems, and they squeal with glee, just like the little demons they are.

edited for darned spelling errors....

I've always said that the god that wbnac worships can't possibly be the same God I Worship.

And the book they read from in no way represents the BIBLE I have enjoyed reading since I was a child.

Oh yeah, that "Judge Not Lest Ye Shall Be Judged" thing?

I figure one of these days, I'll be at the Pearly Gates, and so will wbnac members.

It'll be interesting to see which of us is allowed through, cause folks, they can judge all they want, but in the end, Jesus will Judge us all.

I'm more worried about disappointing him than them.

Oh come on now... you're taking all the fun out of it. If we can't judge those little imps who can we judge? :P

You know, I find this passage to have a different meaning than most people do.

To me it doesn't say, "don't judge others". It says that if you judge others, you will be judged by the same standards.

I don't have a problem with that. Every night, before going to bed I look at myself in the mirror and review my day. I use the same standard to judge myself and my actions that day that I use for judging others. When I find myself failing to live up to my standards, I plan on how I will improve myself tomorrow. I only hope I have set the standard high enough.

I expect exactly the same from others as I do from myself.

So what is the problem with judging others?

OBTW, I am working very hard at not using vulgar language so it is impossible to say EXACTLY what I think of the WBA. Suffice it to say, they are a bunch of real wackos whose only redeeming factor is to be a good bad example.

Except for the fact that I don't have time to celebrate every time a cockroach is stepped on, I would probably cheer when a member of this bunch dies.

My time on earth is to dang short to waste it on trash like that.

:jus-passin-thru:

I agree with you. That's what I take the verse to mean too. People usually leave out the very next verse that says exactly what you just said.

Mat 7:1 ¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

It's saying that the standard that you use to judge others, is the same standard that others will use to judge you with, so you better be fair. Don't be hypocritical when you make a judgment, and before you go trying to take the splinter out of your brother's eye try taking the log out of your eye first and then you'll be able to judge more clearly.

As for the WBC, they are so blatantly wrong and evil that not to make a judgement call about their actions I believe is the same as condoning them.

That's not to say that we are The Judge and condemn people to hell. Only God can make that call.

I think it would be a good idea to send them to that judgment as quickly as possible.

I am not in a good mood about putting up with turkeys like these. We found out over the weekend that a really nice lady, in my wife's church, has cancer, she starts chemo today.

Here is a person that has 4 children, ages 8-16. 1 child has Downs Syndrome and another has many serious health problems and has spent a lot of her life in the hospital. With all of there problems she, and her very supportive husband have, they still thank the Lord for their blessings.

I just have a problem that someone so good should have their problems and trash like the WBA and the useless druggie son of another friend, are allowed to walk the earth.

I find that my tolerance level for stupidity and evil is very low today.
