I saw the devastation that these tornadoes left behind and I'm hoping Toothless Dawg wasn't affected. I looked at a map of Virginia and I don't think they were in your area Dawg, so let us know how you and yours are. There are a lot of people that were affected and need help and prayers. |

Hey Linda, Yes'm they hit yesterday on a line that ran from just a little south of Richmond and over to Norfolk. I live about 65 miles north of Richmond and all we got was more rain. The pictures do show a lot of damage but it was a blessed miracle that nobody was killed. |

Thank you Sue ... the power of prayer!!! There are still many who are in need of continued prayer right now so thank you in advance for yours and those from the Mountain. Thanks in those prayers for the miracle that there were no deaths during all the damage. Over the years, I have worked the aftermath of several tornadoes in this area ... I am always amazed at the power they bring with them. There are always a 100 stories, if not more, from people who go thru them. Each story in itself is testament to how fragile life really is when against a more powerful force. |

It's good news to know that you and your wife are OK Dawg! It was amazing that everyone survived after we saw the pictures on the news. We have other friends down there, just moved from NY to be closer to their daughters who went to college down there. I wonder if they miss us more than they did?!! |

Durn Ali, I think there are now more New Yorkers in Virginia than Virginians  Hope your friends didn't move to that line from Norfolk to South Richmond. Hopefully you will hear from them soon and they missed all the damage. I'm sure the utilities have been damaged there also, so it will take a while for services to be restored in the hard hit areas. |

Suffolk County is where they live, Dawg. They have family in other counties in Virginia. Pete's left a message on their celly, guess we'll just have to wait. |

Thank you JohnnyReb, your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Those durn tornadoes are some awesome works!!! I was working the aftermath of one tornado in Widewater VA and talking with a homeowner ... he said he was sitting at his kitchen table reading the morning paper and drinking a cup of coffee. As he raised the coffee to his lips he looked out the window and froze ... the tornado came up his property, twisting trees and tearing up property. It came up to the house where he was still frozen in place and bounced right OVER the house and continued its destructive path down the back property. Totally awesome!!! |

Sweet Pea, I'm so glad you're ok. We had some rough weather here Thursday night but we're all ok and even the home and business owners with damage came out all right. Sirens were going off here at home but I was across town at work. Those of us from this side of town kept calling home on the cell to check. I remember when my husband used to work evenings and I would be home with the little ones when it stormed. I know it's not a "women's lib" attitude to have but I was always thankful if he was home when a big storm came thru. I know just how my male co-worker's family's felt. By the way, I was searching at work for this website, yeah I know I should a been working, and I couldn't find it til I did a google for "Toothless Dawg" Man, all sorts of sites popped up. You don't look like a toothless dawg at all! |

Sibs, We don't have weather sirens here because we're mostly mild mannered (the weather not the rednecks ). If'n we did have sirens, hearing them go off would definitely up the stress level!!!Omigosh, now my cover is blown :ph43r: Hope it was good sites that showed up
