Hey Y'all

Wanted to share this news with all y'all. I've always had trucks but I sold my last F-250 after purchasing a new Explorer (downsizing after a divorce). I always regretted selling the old truck and missed the feel of a truck (it's a guy thing, Ladies). I stopped by a local dealer on Sunday to 'look around' and like a magnet was stuck to a used F-250. I thought about it for a day, bought it on Tuesday, had them clean it up on Wednesday, and brought it home on Thursday.

Allow me to introduce Gray ... a 2006 Ford F-250, 6.0 turbo-diesel, 4WD, extended cab, 10,000 GVW

I'm lovin' life right now ... my new baby is SWEEEEEEEEEEET

Nice truck, TD! I understand about the "guy thing". My son had a full sized truck that was wrecked winter before last. He hit a patch of black ice and that was all she wrote! He let his wife talk him into a "reasonable" family vehicle and got a Toyota Element. Well after they had been separated for a few months, he left the house one day to ride around, and when he returned he had traded for a full-size extended cab pickup (Chevrolet, I think?!). He is much happier with his vehicle now, and his son (my sweet little grandson) loves it too! Dad is already teaching him the basics...A man is gotta have a big truck!

It's not just a 'guy thing' Dawg! When our daughter went out to CA last month we were left with her Jetta. Pete sold his Grand Prix and took my truck, and I got the Jetta so he wouldn't look like a 'flamer' driving around in a 'girly' car. I miss my truck!!!

Thanks guys ... I'm having a ball and life is good but then I haven't bought the first tank of fuel yet

CW, yessir I like them Dodge trucks too. I've had Fords all my life but was looking for either a Dodge 2500/3500 or Ford 250/350 whichever came first. A co-worker has a Dodge 250 super turbo so I get to go rag him about it today    Let the truck wars begin!!!

Sunshine, wow what an offer that was :o :P :P :P Yes'm, your memory serves you right. I guess I was married around 1 1/2 year ago but that doesn't affect my trucks!!!

Sue, my nearest grandson (14) lives with his dad who owned his own 18wheeler for a while and hauled up and down the east coast. My grandson would go with him every once in a while and loved it. His dad gave him some wheel time locally so he's growing up a lil' trucker. (well he's not so little anymore, at 14 he's as tall as me)

Ali, well dear friend its good you gave your truck to Pete to save him the embarrassment, not to mention the rumors, from driving a girlie car. I see only one solution to this problem though ... now y'all need to go out and buy another truck and you get the new one

CR,

hahahahaha you caught me!!! You're absolutely correct though ... women drive trucks, big trucks, and bigger trucks nowadays. Sometimes my brain stays stuck in the old days (or daze) ... no offense intended to our women of the mountain

TD, that's a mighty nice looking truck. It looks like it will serve you well. Ford uses a International Harvester diesel engine called a Navistar power stroke. There is a Navistar diesel engine plant in Huntsville, AL. and I think they build engines there for Ford trucks. The Navistar Power Stroke engine is a very good engine.

Talking about women and trucks brings this latest observation to mind. Yesterday I was following a big Dodge Dually that had a diesel engine(knew from size of exhaust pipe). There painted on the tailgate were these words.

"Sorry guys...trucks are for GIRLS"

The lady driving it I think was one of our local cow girls.

Almtnman,

Yessir tha's the engine ... I'm dead dumb on diesel's but I have heard so much good about them that I decided to try one if I found the truck. I've been pleasantly surprised at the 'git up' with the current diesels. I'm still in the process of getting it set up the way I like it but we're gittin' there. The truck wars are on at work    my bro asked me if I wanted to set up a chain between the two trucks (his is the Dodge 2500) and have a pull off.

I love the tailgate graphic on the dually you were talking about ... tha's my kind o' girl!!!
