We need something to cheer us up! My pals on The Mountain are getting to sad with this election year. "Face it Al, we've got nobody to vote for" ....but it went on longer than that and he said many expletives between the words!! (Pete)
So tell me, what have you been listening to? About a week ago, I bought the new Dolly Parton CD - "Backwoods Barbie". There's not a song on it that I don't love!! It's good for slow dancing in the kitchen, too!
Please tell what you're listening to when the stupid TV is off!

I listen to country music a lot when I'm driving and sometimes when there's nothing on TV and I want to listen to just music.

And for some reason that I can't explain, I like to listen to Zydeco music, especially Buckwheat Zydeco. There's just something about that Cajun style music that's catchy. I have a Buckwheat CD and like it, but not sure if I would like any other performers.

If we want to listen to something soft and low, we will put a classical CD in the stereo and listen to that.....now that will sooth your soul. :)

50's - 60's Oldies but Goodies ... reliving some of those moments that come to mind when you hear a particular song. S'funny, you can almost smell the perfume and water and remember the touch.

Used to be an avid Country Music listener but don't like the new style country. I like the Bob Wills Texas Swing ... George Strait ... George 'possum' Jones ... Loretta Lynn ... Hank JR and sometimes Hank SR ... Used to listen to my grandma's 75rpm records and go to Ryman Auditorium about once a month in my younger days. Great time.

I recently found a great channel here that plays 60's and 70's - I am enjoying that!! As far as my CD collection, very eclectic - from Grateful Dead and CCR to Celtic music and classical. It also includes Beatles, Eagles, Charlie Daniels Band, Pink Floyd, Prince, early Madonna, Billy Joel, Elton John, early Van Halen, Alan Jackson, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Bob Marley, UB40, Quiet Riot, Kiss, etc. What music I like best depends on my current mood. There are, however, very few songs I like from 1990 on - after that - practically country only!!!

I go between the country station and classic rock which is what I grew up listening to. I really wanted to go to Woodstock but I was only 13 and they wouldn't let me go, LOL! Thankfully I grew out of my hippy ways, but I still like most of the music. I can't much get into the Stones Sympathy for the Devil anymore though. What was up with that?

Lynrd Skynrd's Gimme three steps always had me dancing and laughing... ;)

I started listening to country music in the eighties so I that's the old stuff to me. The song that got me started was "Swingin" by John Anderson. That song just made me smile, and the way he said īt too, ....swaaangin :) "

We have all kinds of music to choose from on our cable stations out here, so I just see what I feel like listening to and I can really pump it up because my tv is hooked up to my stereo speakers.

Oh and I can't leave out the 60's Music The Young Rascals, Beatles, The Animals, and Motown ...very cool, just too many to name.

Zydeco music could put you in a good spirit anytime Almtnman ....no matter how bad you feel!! Party time (even) without the booze! I love it! It just makes you feel happy!
I like 'old' country and 'new' ....certain songs still make me cry!
As far as rock n roll goes, I'm a lot like you BSB and LL! I've got a wide range from the 60's til now! We're lucky to have heard it all from the beginning! I absolutely love my Jerry Lee Lewis Cd's! (The first 'bad guy' of rock n roll!).
The kids have nothing on us!

Mainly 60's and 70's rock, a little country when I'm with the wife, and big band.
