I have to agree with you guys here. When I read NB's post I was thinking what's up with this? Definitely out in left field. But, from all I have seen of NB's replies to posts, it fits the pattern. Some folks can't see the forest for the trees...

Your post here is an insult to our men and women whom have paid the ultimate price in the War on Terror.

As a troll, you have deliberately posted this here as a political statement.

That was my feelings on that post also. I wonder if she read the thing all the way through? It was in August and during that time of year it's pretty hot there, things decompose rapidly in heat. A few years back I found a body in a car that had run off the road in the heat of Summer and it wasn't as hot as it is in Iraq. That body in the car was pretty badly decomposed and was only there a few days. Heat and dead bodies don't go together. I guess we will need to be sending ice to Iraq to see if it will melt in the hot desert sun next, to satisfy some peoples emotions and politics. Or maybe before a war gets under way, we can refrigerate the entire country ahead of time or only pick places like the south or north pole to conduct any wars in the future.
:tank:

My thoughts exactly, AMM.

And the fact that his HMMWV rolled over into a canal (water) probably also increased the decomposition rate.

This brave American Soldier was KIA in 2005.

From the training I have been getting, I know that things are broken. And back in 2005, this may have been broken.

I also know that every effort possible is being made to fix broken things. And hopefully this is one of the things that is being fixed.

AND, the fact that someone decided to throw this post up in this thread was purely because that person is against the war in Iraq and also looking for any flaw in the military system amongst the TREES IN THE FOREST of wonderful things that our Soldiers have done, are doing, and will be doing.....

Sorry INGAC, it would be morally wrong to attack the Family that lost their brave Soldier.

BUT, it is just plain downright low to display their grieving on a message board website as a political statement.

They are going thru enough grieving and don't need someone trying to use their loss as a political statement.

What they do need is prayer and comfort. Kind words.....

May God bless this Family who lost their Soldier tragically with the strength and pride in knowing how good of a person he was and how he loved what he was doing for his country. :flag-raise:

This letter was written by Mr. Dennard. I called and varified to make sure.

Subject: (PIF) Berkeley will feel the pain

BERKELEY , Calif. Local officials in this liberal city say it's time for the U.S. Marines to move out.
The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and "if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests."
The measure passed this week by a vote of 8-1.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,327347,00.html

Contact the city council at Berkeley , CA via email: clerk@ci.berkeley.ca.us

Now check this out, here is a letter a businessman wrote to the Mayor of Berkeley .

Is this a great country or what?

Dear Mayor Bates,

In that you and your city have chosen to gravely insult the brave men and women, who have indeed bought you that right with their blood, I am informing you that my company will no longer do business with any of our current suppliers located in the Berkeley , California metro area.

In that my company is in international resort real estate development, and do business with and am associated with, developers and investors worldwide, I am informing all of my contacts, associates and patrons that we will no longer do any business of any sort with anyone living in the Berkeley area.

In that we/MDG Resorts are currently building a state of the art mega-yacht marina, all of the suppliers of Marina equipment, all owners of Yachts , all suppliers of Yacht materials & supplies, all yacht brokers and all tangential yacht business purveyors will likewise be informed that we will not do any business whatsoever with anyone from the Berkeley area.

Likewise all suppliers of building materials, both interior and exterior, currently associated with any of our several resort developments (Brisamar 300+ villas and 200+ condos: Porto Hussong, www.portohussong.com 500+ condos, 180 slip mega-yacht marina) both of which I might add have international recognition by virtue of glowing reports in Robb Report, Wall Street Journal, Yacht World, Forbes.

I will likewise inform all of our investors, most of whom are very wealthy yacht owners, casino owners, high net worth international businessmen, of our decision to essentially boycott all products and providers located in, or associated with in any way whatsoever, Berkeley , Ca.

Trust me when I say that having been in the real estate development business for over 35 years, our list of contacts and associates is long and very, very impressive. We, and I personally, are going to recomend that they ALL along with us boycott your city, its purveyors, suppliers, and businesses and CHARITIES of every kind.

You have every right to choose to take the obnoxious anti-military stance you have taken, and as stated, that right was bought for you with the blood of better men than you.

I too have every right to do all that I can to insure that your city suffers consequences arising from that obnoxious, sickening stance.

Cordially,

Was browsing thru Jamie Colby's blog and found this very good posting:

Quote:

Comment by Hon. Chuck "Sneakers" Nesby, Capt. USN (ret), SES (ret)
February 11th, 2008 at 3:11 pm

A copy of my letter text to Senators Feinstein, Boxer, and my Congressional District representative:

Dear Senator/Representative xxxxx:

As a constituent and business owner, I most strongly urge you to support The Semper Fi Act of 2008.

Six US senators and an Orange County California representative are introducing companion bills called the Semper Fi Act of 2008 that takes away $2 million, including funds from UC Berkeley and a local foundation that provides lunches to the Berkeley Unified School District. Additionally, the bills seek to take away $243,000 from the Chez Panisse Foundation, which provides school lunches for Berkeley public schools, and $975,000 from UC Berkeley’s Matsui Center for Politics and Public Service to create an endowment and catalogue of papers of Rep. Robert Matsui. The bills would also seek to remove other earmarks, including nearly $1 million for a new ferry service and funds for public safety.

These actions serve as appropriate notice and response/retaliation to the uproar over an anti-Marine Corps policy by the Berkeley, California City Council vote telling the U.S. Marines their recruiting station is not welcome in the city.

Thank you for your kind attention to this urgent matter. I’m strongly advocating for your aggressive support.

Please let me know what you intend to do on this issue.

Sincerely,

Move America Forward (MAF) is moving into Berkeley today with permits for space near the Recruiting Station. They have called in patriots from around the country to come together to show support for the Marines and our troops. Melanie says she has heard that Code Stink is setting up tents in the areas where MAF has permits. With the non-action by the police of Berkeley, this could get very interesting before the day is done.

Pray for those patriots who are on the front line in Berkeley today.

Maybe a few of the patriots chew tobacco and can let a few Code Pinko's get a little tobacco juice if they get close enough. One veteran spit a wad of tobacco juice in jane fonda's face a while back after standing in line for the chance to do it.

It's totally unbelievable that a mayor and city council would get to this low in America.

BTW, AFA (American Family Association) has a place on their website to send the city of Berkeley an email from their site opposing Berkeley's actions on this. I sent another email from their site a few days ago. I would think that Berkeley's email inbox is getting overrun with emails.

Berkeley City Council to Revisit Vote Against Marine Recruiting Station
Tuesday, February 12, 2008

E-Mail Respond Print Share:
DiggFacebookStumbleUpon
BERKELEY, Calif. — Two weeks after the Berkeley City Council called U.S. Marine Corps recruiters "uninvited and unwelcome intruders," the council is expected to reconsider its anti-Marine stance Tuesday night.

Large crowds from the left and right are mobilizing for the meeting. The anti-war feminist group Code Pink began a 24-hour "peace-in" Monday night, and the pro-war group Move America Forward planned a day-long demonstration outside City Hall.

The Rev. Fred Phelps, the anti-gay activist and founder of the Westboro Baptist Church, will be there as well, demonstrating against both the Marines and Code Pink. Members of the Westboro Baptist Church routinely picket at the funerals of American soldiers killed in action.

Code Pink activist Zanne Joi said her group is "supporting the troops by being against war and against recruiting."

"It’s because we care about these people that we are standing up against the war machine," Joi said.

On Jan. 29, the city council approved a resolution that included letters to the Marines advising them that their recruiting station is unwelcome in Berkeley. It also called for an investigation into whether the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy for homosexuals violated city anti-discrimination policy.

RelatedStories
Berkeley, Calif., Mayor Apologizes to Military Members Following Flap Over Council Vote U.S. Senator Wants to Revoke Funding From City of Berkeley, Calif., for Vote to Boot Marines Berkeley to Marine Corps: You're Not Welcome Other portions of the resolution applauded residents who "volunteer to impede" the work of the Marines, and gave Code Pink a parking space directly in front of the Marines' office from noon to 4 p.m. every Wednesday for six months, as well as waiving the fee for a sound permit.

That decision sparked a nationwide outrage, calls to withhold government funding for the city, and an apology and clarification from Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.

On Tuesday, the council will hear from Laurie Capitelli and Betty Olds, two council members who are sponsoring a revised resolution that will ask the city not to send a letter to the Marine Corps saying it's unwelcome in Berkeley.

The resolution would reiterate the city's opposition to the Iraq war, while clarifying Berkeley's support of the nation's military servicemembers.

In a joint press statement, Capitelli and Olds said: “We failed to make it clear that while we continue to oppose what we consider an unethical and illegal war in Iraq, at the same time we respect and honor all the brave men and women who are serving or have served in the military … We have erred by not adequately differentiating between the war and the warriors.”

Capitelli and Olds also said in the press statement: “The recommendation to inform the Marine Corps recruiting office that they are not welcome in our city, was insulting, hurtful and wrong.”

The council's initial Marine Corps motions prompted a backlash from lawmakers in California's capital, Sacramento, and Washington. There have been calls to withhold state and federal funds — including $2 million in federal money earmarked for ferry service and school lunches, among other things — as well as an apology from Berkeley's mayor.

"Let me be absolutely clear that this is not about the men and women who are serving our country in our armed forces," Mayor Bates said on Feb. 1. "I am a retired U.S. Army Captain and I respect the choice of those who are serving our country.

"However, this community strongly opposes the war in Iraq and the foreign policy of the current administration."

He added: "I understand that there are people across the country that may not agree with this action, but it is the Berkeley City Council's responsibility to represent the will of the people of Berkeley."

That argument didn't fly with California Assemblyman Guy Houston, a Republican, who asked last week that $3.3 million in state transportation funds be suspended until the council rescinds its resolution.

"The Marines, and all of our branches of the military, deserve the honor of our elected officials, not their scorn," Houston said.

At Tuesday night's council meeting, Berkeley politicians will also consider measures that would condemn the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border as well as a request to Canadian leaders to grant sanctuary for U.S. war resisters.

That statement that this wacko Zanne Joi made should make the 10 most stupidest statements of the year.

That's like saying we love our troops that are in harms way, but we want to make sure that you get no help and no replacements and we intend to stand on the street and make ourselves look stupid.

Somebody needs to give Zanne Joi a sign to hang around her neck that says, "I'm Stuck on Stupid!"

Got this from Shrek's mom today and it has to be posted:

Quote:

My son, Michael, had been haunting the recruiting stations for quite some time deciding what he wanted to do.  In April of his Junior year of high school (1999) he told his dad and I that he was thinking of doing Basic Training before his senior year.  We talked about it and suggested he also have a chat with his coaches.  We didn't say no - we wanted to see how serious he was.  May and June came and went and Mike did not finalize his paperwork.  Senior year football was great as the team led by Joe Mauer won the State Championship and the college recruiters swarmed around.  Mike loved w restling more so he was hoping for a wrestling scholarship.  At the same time he continued to hound the recruiters.  Mike received 2 football scholarships.  He was torn - he wanted to enlist, but knew our hearts wanted him to go to college.  He accepted one of the scholarships and threw everything into football and studies at Concordia University in St. Paul.  We could tell by mid September that he had made the wrong decision - he was very unhappy - mostly because it was not taking him where he wanted to be fast enough - he wanted to protect people!  He wanted to be protec ting America!  Mike stuck it out - made the Dean's list and the day after school was out in May 2001 he was back at the recruiters office and left for Basic Training one week later - he was now on his way...

Mike wanted to be Infantry, shoot the big gun - do the toughest and learn it from the ground up.  It took him to Germany, Kosovo and the Diyala Provence of Iraq.  On January 24, 2005 Mike gave his life for his buds, for America and for our freedoms, but that is not the end of his story - it is simply the beginning of new stories...

On a Saturday morning in St. Paul in our church, the Honor Guard was preparing to begin their vigil.  I asked our Casualty Officer to speak with Sgt. Green, a member of the Honor Guard who also happened to be Mike's recruiter.  Sgt. Green came and stood at attention in front of me and I could see in his eyes there was an underlying fear.  He did not know what to expect.  He had worked with Mike all that time to join the military and now he faced the worst - the mother of one of his fallen recruits.  I told Sgt. Green that I only had one thing to say to him - Thank You .  Thank you for helping my Mike be the soldier that he wanted to be.  Thank you for helping Mike fulfill his dreams.  Thank you - two words that made this soldier crumble.  Today, Sgt. Green is in Iraq and I count him as a friend and wish him Godspeed!

What's your recruiter story...or the story of kindness received.  It's time to send in the offense and take this opportunity to reach out to our heroes and thank them - at the Recruiting Station, at the Base or Armory - wherever we see them.  Let's tell the wonderful stories of our heroes and all their contacts to our local papers.  Let's make an all-out effort to tell the country how proud we are of our heroes!

To the Sgt. Greens of our military - my deepest thanks - without you there would have been no Sgt. Michael Carlson - better known as Sgt. Shrek!

I was at the protest yesterday. Guys, those anti-war scum are -- well, I can't set my feelings down in writing!

I stopped one young witch from lighting our flag on fire. She informed me she didn't want to burn me as I was grabbing for the flag. You can well imagine my response!! She didn't take me up on my offer. Then I had another pond sucking witch put her treasonous sign right in my face. I punched the sign rather forcefully and still laugh over the stunned look on the bovine's face.

I won't get into the most troubling issue for me on yesterday's protest except to say they are using children to incite the good guys. They seem to be taking a page from their heroes, the terrorists, book. After listening to the foul talk of what seemed to be a 10-year old girl I did tell the crowd of children to meet me away from the protest and we'd talk - obviously their parents have never disciplined the budding anarchists. They responded in typical Berkeley-commie fashion. Since I could not handle this without resorting to tanning some hides, I just left.

Thank you for being there. I can well imagine the restraint you had to call up when dealing with the kids and the kommies. Then again, from what I read, the keystone kops weren't doing there job AGAIN.

Its strange to see their response because GoE has a great rapport with law enforcement here on the east coast. It seems the berkeley cops have gone to the other side. :hammerhead:

1. Thanks Cheryl for going and standing up for what is right and decent.

2. This should not be the end of it. Congress need to still strip the funding. This is no different than someone coming up and spitting in your face and when the cops come saying they are sorry and really respect you. Strip the money and punish them for their actions.

Some will scream you are punishing the innocent people of Berkley. No I am punishing the people who put these idiots in office. They after all are their representatives. You don't think the neighbors of the code pink liberals will not let them know how they feel when they feel the pain. Business will also make their voice heard.

These people must be taught to accept the consequences of their actions

3. The Feds need to get involved and investigate why the local police did not do their job and allowed the code pink idiots violate the right of the GOE to assemble peacefully. Then prosecute as appropriate.

4. Thanks again Cheryl for standing up for decency.

Cheryl, thanks very much for making it there and also giving us a report on what took place. I sent the mayor and all the city council another email yesterday before they met to decide what they wanted to do. I hope they take some advice that is coming there way and do what's right and honorable.

And I feel the same as VMI84, take their Federal funding away and don't feel sorry for it as the people of Berkeley are voting these jokers into office, so they are just as much as fault as the politicians there.

No thanks needed, guys. I'm a red-blooded American patriot and was just defending our great country.

Until you've been to Berklestan you will not have an appreciation of how rabid these people are. I will say, though, a citizen of the cesspool was there and he and his wife were outraged by their city council and the anti-war pukes. He even engaged in "dialog" with one of the pond scum. It was great!!!

I hope they cut federal funds but I doubt it. For some reason those who are treasonous, anti-America and not productive members of our society seem to go unscathed and not pay for their acts.

I have to say the police finally got serious and were not taking any BS from those who were on the wrong side. They didn't come after me when I rushed out into the middle of the street and was trying to wrestle the flag away from the @#$%^ female who doesn't understand what our glorious flag means to those who love this country. Of course it was right after this episode that the riot squad stood in the middle of the street, three deep, to avoid any more confrontations!!!

You guys would have been proud of me when I was challenging some of their "men" to hit me!! I must say they exercised restraint judging from the hate in their eyes. My oh my, those liberal jerks do not like middle-aged white female patriots!!! Of course, having so many vets around I'm sure influenced them from not decking me!!!

I know, TD. I broke every rule for counter protesting. Well, not when it came to saving our flag. I must get my temper in check. Yet I've dealt with these seditious idiots all my life and I just won't take their crap any longer.

Plus they insult my fashion sense. I don't know who dresses these people but damn, they look stupid.

Like your thinking, TD!! Succinct and to the point.

Just found out Code Stink has opened a chapter up in Redding, CA. They're having a "make out not war rally" tomorrow. Goodness gracious, if the women look like the sows I saw, it should be a small rally unless they're of the "other" persuasion.

My friends in Redding - mostly all vets! - will be attending this gathering of misguided souls. I so wish I could be there but it's 2-1/2 hours away and I have to work!! I'll have an after action report, I'm sure!

From MAF (Move America Forward):

Quote:

There has been more fallout in Berkeley, California after the City Council passed a resolution that called our troops "unwelcome intruders" and called upon residents to not cooperate with any military recruiting center in the city.

Anti-military protestors, feeling emboldened by the city's blessing, chained themselves in front of the Marine Recruiting Center and prevented people from entering the facility. The police stood by and did nothing - telling people that they were "trying to remain neutral." See the video for yourself - HERE

Photograph from SF Chronicle

Thousands of you have responded to our call to action and registered your protests with the city via emails, phone calls and petitions.

Now, as Michelle Malkin Reports, city council members are indicating that they may rescind the resolution at their next City Council meeting that takes place this Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 7:00 PM.

Move America Forward has already announced our plans for a giant rally outside the City Council chambers at the February 12th Council Meeting. We need people there by 5:00 PM for the council meeting start time of 7:00 PM.

However, since the news media will likely be camped out throughout the day, we will have staff arriving in the morning, and are asking as many supporters as possible to join us for at least part of the day - so there are bodies there for the cameras. Our first Move America Forward staff members will arrive at 5:00 AM (yes, in the morning) - this is when the early morning news programs begin airing in San Francisco.

The City Council Chambers are located at 2134 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way. It's right by Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. Here is a map to the location

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PROTEST OF BERKELEY CITY COUNCIL

* TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2008

* 2134 MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. WAY - BERKELEY, CA

* Council Meeting Begins at 7:00 PM

(We are asking people to be there early,
however - if possible, start arriving by 5:00 PM)

** Also... If you can, please join us for our "picketing" of the City Council Chambers. We will be out there at 2134 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way beginning at 5:00 AM for the morning news. We will have a presence all throughout the day - the next newscasts are at 12:00 Noon, so we'll want a good size presence there as well.

A couple things that I noticed in the photo:

1. Most look like butt ugly lesbians to me. there are a few ex-hippie dudes around, but butt ugly lesbians for some reason seem to attract ex-hippie dudes. What's up with that?

2. The doors are locked. It must be Sunday. LOL these butt ugly lesbians are protesting while the Marines aren't around. There's nothing sadder than a bunch of chicken chit butt ugly lesbians protesting. What a waste of leg hair.

Michelle Malkinin has a good update. The Semper Fi is not dead as of this note but may be soon if the Dem get their way. The police here gave themselves a bad name by not protecting the rights of those seeking legitimate entry and thus showing support of the Code Pink as they sought to deny the rights of law abiding citizens.

I truly wonder if a suit could be brought against Code pink for denying the rights of law abiding citizens who had their right to pass stopped. This would be a suit not just against Code Pink but the city of Berkley and the police who in declaring themselves neutral gave tacit approval for the actions of Code Pink. They need to be taken to court just like the idiots WBC. :cowboy:

Here is another link that was passed on to me to pictures and account of the Berkeley patriot/commie standoff.

Story Link

I doubt anything will be done re: the inaction of the police, and the traitorous acts of the City Council and code stink ... but it sure will escalate things across the country when we face these scum again ... Its gonna be an interesting year

You got that right...and with what's going on in this election you might want to pick up some extra ammo because we might have to take the Republic back once again.

I already have my plans in place in case the worst happens.

There were eight Stinkos/other scum and 40-50 vet/bikers and patriots at the Redding, CA inaugural Code Stink protest!! The idiots were late arriving and imagine their surprise seeing that many counter protesters waiting for them!! This with less than a day's notice! It got a little heated at times, I heard!

There will be a counter protest every time the anarchists rally. This should prove interesting as the weather gets better. The skanks may just have chewed off more than just their legs this time!

Go to Wal Mart and in the sporting dept. you will find Elk and deer urine in little spray bottles. Hunters use it to attract bulls and bucks. It's also used to cover the human scent. If your lucky you'll find skunk scent. If you happen to show up to another pink protest, spray some of this stuff on an old ball cap and stand down wind. Heck pass it around to all of your buddies.
