Less than a month, and the love has faded - our daughter came home (with our computer) with a one way ticket to LA, leaving many broken hearts and worries. I've missed you all, and rather than sit here and curse the darkness, I lit myself a little candle to tell you all a 'guess you had to be there' "funny" story. The last time Pete and I were in an airport, it was 1979. We found ourselves there again last Saturday with our daughter. We had to run back down to the ticket place so we could get gate checks in order to sit with her until her plane was ready to take off. Back upstairs only to find out that we had to take off our coats and shoes! "Al, why do I have to take off my shoes"? (Mr. "Fox News" was asking ME!) "This is America Pete, get your shoes off"! It's a big old goofy world, and I guess it's getting bigger all the time! We just didn't notice. Anyway, happy new year!! |

Ali, my heart goes out to you. It's so hard to let go of our kids. I hope everything goes well for her and pray God keeps her safe on her journey. |

Thanks Linda, we've put it in God's hands! All I ever asked, is for our kids to be happy and healthy. Now I've got to get working on getting Pete and I into the 21st century! 5:00 am in a crowed airport and going through the metal detector was just to exciting ...and we weren't even going anywhere!! The whole thing was just kind of pathetic in a funny sort of way! We need to get out more often!! |
