Great post, Sunshine! It has really started me thinking about this. In many ways, this has been a rough year for me. But God has been good in so much! So here goes: I have been blessed with sharing another Thanksgiving with my parents. Each day with them is a gift from God. I have been blessed by my 2 sons. My youngest has been through a pretty rough year, and is really having a crisis of faith right now, but I can see so many ways God is looking out for him and my grandson. I have been blessed by having my youngest son and grandson living with me. My grandson had a void in his life that I have been able to help fill, and he is doing so much better now than he was a few months ago. I have been blessed by having been led to a job that enables me to help folks in their time of crisis. It is physically, spiritually, and emotionally hard at times---but God gives me the strength and grace to continue. I have been very blessed by living in a country where we can still worship God freely. I have been blessed with the knowledge that many men and women continually sacrifice daily in many parts of the world, that I and my loved ones may live free. I have been blessed with the many friends I have made here on the Mountain, sharing thoughts and ideas, or just shooting the breeze! There have been quite a few deaths this year that have affected me greatly, but I am so thankful I have a heavenly Father that gives freely of His grace to His children that I have been able to deal with these deaths and be there for the friends that were affected. God is soooo good. Even when times are bad, His grace shines through! May each of you have a truly wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

Amen Carolina Sue, when times are tough God is right there with us! I'm thankful to God for giving me the family that I was born into, even though we fight, we're still tight. I'm thankful to my grandmother and my mother for teaching me about God, and I'm thankful to God for drawing me back to Him when He did. I'm thankful for my kids and grandkids, they bring so much joy into my life. I'm thankful that God gave me a "best friend" that I can tell anything and everything to. Not everybody gets to have a friend like that in their lives. I'm thankful for having a roof over my head and food on the table. And I'm thankful for being born in the good old USA and for the men and women who sacrifice to keep us free. May God bless them and protect them and let them know how much they are loved and appreciated this Thanksgiving Day. Happy Thanksgiving everybody...gotta go cook now... |

Too much for me to list. The kids are doing well, hubby and I are doing well. I have a job. Mom is 80 and a bit down about it but coming to grips with it so that's good. If I'm as good as she is when I'm 70 I'll be very, very thankful for that. Looking forward for good things to come in the next year, so I guess one thing I'm thankful for is HOPE!! Without that we're all lost. |
