Christmas Future?; Not if I can help it!

'Twas the month before Christmas when all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying nor taking a stand.
Why the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a " Holiday ".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets are hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears .
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "DreamTree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !

They can kiss my spreading middle-aged rear - it has been and always will be Christmas. I'm losing my patience with these anti-Christian zealots.

When I was about 10, my church had a Christmas program. I was assigned to recite a poem about the use of an X for the Christ part of Christmas.

While I can't remember the exact wording, I do remember that it said that an X doesn't mean Christ and that by using the X we were taking Christ out of Christmas.

I have NEVER been able to use an X that way. Even though a lot of Christians use it I believe that it was a start of the secularists to undermine the Christian Religion.

How many people do you know that write Xmas? Would they say they are Xians?

I always respond to "happy holidays" with "Merry Christmas"

OBTW, The secularists haven't seemed to be able to grasp that "holiday" has at it's roots "HOLY DAYS". What is Holy to you?

Carolina Sue! Did you write that? It's wonderful!!
I finished my Christmas shopping last weekend, and I won't go in to town until Christmas is long over! The stores, the people and that non-Christmas Spirit, just suck the Joy right out of me!
If any of you 'dare' to go out, I wish you a smile on your face, a song in your heart and a knowing that He is the reason for the season!!

I only wish I had written it, because it describes the way I've been feeling for some time! Not sure who the author is, I received it in an email from a friend.

I have made a commitment to myself that this year I WILL NOT let anyone rob me of the joy of celebrating Christ's birthday! I have always answered a Happy Holidays with Merry Christmas, but this year I intend to make the first move by saying MERRY CHRISTMAS first! And Ali, I second your prayer, and also wish the same to each and everyone!
