It's not winter here where I live, we're still walking around without a coat on. I will have to say though, it has been one of the most colorful Falls that i have seen in a while. The leaves have been all colors, red, orange, yellow just a mixture of it all. It got that way over two weeks ago and the colors are still here even more vivid. I need to take a picture before it rains and knocks all the leaves off the trees. I read the Sunday paper today and there was even an article about where for the city folks to drive and see some nice colors and this mountain I live on was one of those places listed. I just wish that some of you could enjoy this as much as we have for the past couple of weeks.

SNOW IN NOVEMBER DEPRESSING???......naw What's depressing is looking at it and having no way to move it. Like I said - glad that tractor is fixed again. Hope their aren't any of them smiley face crop circle things in your snow there, Ali AMM - you're just enjoying what we were enjoying a few weeks ago The snow melted pretty fast - warm south winds all day, but gloomy along the lake here. Watched the PACK POUND the Panthers in sunshine all day, and wondered how the heck just 30 miles could bring that much sunshine. ANY day is full of sunshine when the PACK WINS!

James, we got 2 inches last Wednesday. Then the winds picked up during the night, gusting to 50+ mph, and blew all the snow away! This fall has been one of the prettiest ones I can remember, but the leaves didn't last long on the trees around here! Some of the most vivid reds and yellows and oranges I can remember. Yeah, CW, saw the Panthers drop another one. They just can't seem to get it together this year. Oh well, there's always next year!

Ya'll are making me cold!!! It feels like snow here but its still too warm ... around 49degrees but it is damp enough that it feels much colder. You know that smell you get when snow is on the way? Its in the air. Thankfully the forecast for next week says we're going up to the mid-to-high 50s. The earliest snow I want to ever see again would be somewhere around the year 2050 ... and I fully expect to be running around barefoot on a street of gold by then!!! |

There are so many here that it boggles the mind and most of them aren't even being developed. Here, the big dollar goes for waterfront and almost everyone ignores the ridges. I kind of like that since Vermont starting taxing the view more than other properties. Actually, I kind of miss snow this year. I may have to take a little trip. |

HOLY COW IS IT SNOWING OUT!!! Missed our townroad driving home in the whiteout.....almost missed our driveway....drove past the turn up to our house.....cars are buried/stuck. Car almost got stuck driving on the townroad (the ol' beater Saturn made'r thru) I pray that our Families made it home safely tonight. Believe it or not - the Sugarland concert in Green Bay is sold out for tonight. When the weather in Green Bay gets tough - the tough get PARTYING! Sittin' and sippin' on a nice Crown Royal and warming up.....tomorrow will be the BIG DIG..... |

We woke up to about six inches of snow this morning and it just kept coming all day long! It's pretty, but it's cold!! Only 10 degrees up here tonight! I've got a nice mug of tea (just Lipton's), but you know ...I think tonight, a couple shots of Grey Goose mixed in, might warm me up a little quicker! |

Nice and warm here by our fireplace, here Ali You and Pete are more than welcome to join us. Yep, she's been darn cold all week, too. First time I seen the river frozen over this early in a few years. Better think about getting the ice fishing gear down pretty soon. Pond is frozen over already, too. Ever watch a puppy try to run around on the ice? Mostly ROLLING around on the ice ![]() We have a couple of folks stuck in GB today with airport shutdown. MAN, I wish the Pack would have been playing them darn Cowboys tomorrow here in GB, rather than the game they played in TX a few days ago. I think them "boys" would have been in for a whoopin'. Sad the Pack lost, but they played good and the ref's STUNK! Two bad calls that made HUGE difference in the whole game.

Its obvious both ya'll are trippin' on something ... I ain't a-gonna fall for it!!! Don't you realize we are in a global warming crisis??? The smartest man on earth (invented the internet, had a chick flick written about he and his wife, Nobel prize for whatever (I can't really say in mixed company)) has been warning of this crisis since he lost his previous job. So it must be that he is right and ya'll are wrong.

CW, you might have to do what I did, dig down real deep in your pockets and buy a new tractor. My old tractor kept going kerplunk, so I finally gave up on it and bought a brand new 5 cylinder diesel Kubota with all the extras. I wasn't too happy on the price of the added front end loader, but finally gave in and that nifty item has proved itself in worth many times.

CW, It seems like 'THOSE' days just keep on piling things on!!! I feel your pain bro ... !!! James, I've heard a lot of good about the Kubota. You're right about the front end loader too. It pays for itself over time ... did you get the backhoe attachment also?? John Deere had a nice one but it was kind of slow ... but it beat digging a trench by hand hahaha. |

boy that Kubota would be the cat's meow right now... Sorry, already tried digging in the pockets, pulled them out of the pants and all that fell out was SNOW some lint  and What I really need is a NEW PART.....instead of trying to weld and OLD part. Any inside connections on Minny-Moline tractor parts? "back break" is over - back to the snowbank..... I don't mind snow....unless it's that darn heavy wet stuff.... |

I didn't get a backhoe attachment. I got the front end loader, box blade with adjustable hard surfaced welded cutting teeth on it, a 20 inch diameter scalloped disc harrow with four gangs of discs, cultivator and a 5 foot bush hog. I wish that would have got a post hole auger at the time, but will probably get one of those later. The Kubota's have gained a lot of popularity around here because the 5 cylinder diesel engine has more torque than a same horsepower 4 cylinder diesel that is used in most other tractors. All the farmers here are changing over to them. The Kubota is made in Japan and the John Deere is made I think in Czechoslovakia. The Ford tractor is no longer a Ford, it's a New Holland and made in UK. |

Oh yeah man, you're set up pretty durn good. I remember one time I was bush-hogging about 25 acres of hay that hadn't been cut on time. I don't know what I was thinking but my mind was anywhere but on the task at hand. Then I made the turn and saw that I had the bush-hog set too low and I was about a breath away from setting the field on fire

CW & ALI, I feel so guilty ... NOT!!! Its been around 25 degrees low here in VA and we had our first snow this morning ... if you could call it that. Possibly 1/8 inch of snow on the ground with a tad of sleet added in. The fact that we are in a fairly protected area helps but on the other hand it causes crazy action/reaction. In this instance DOT sanded the roads but there was no snow!?!?!?!?! The result??? I had to laugh, cars/trucks were driving through the sand and causing 'dust storms' ... and I mean some BIG dust/sand storms     Funs over though, by this weekend we are supposed to be back to 60 degrees. Hey, its a start!!! |
