It's OK, copy this code out of the code box and paste it to the forum where you want it and it will only show up as short link to "Veterans Day 2007"

Hey Gang,

Used to communicate with some of you on the CD fan club web. All I have to say about the WBC is that evidently none of the participants are veterans and they sure give REAL christians a bad rap. As Christians, we do not act like they are. I don't know what God they are worshiping unless it is Mohammed. My God is peaceful and loving, not hateful. They are not Christians. The Muslims would love to have them in their mosque. They would fit right in. It is just upsetting when some nuts like this get out there and proclaim to be Christians. All I can say is they will answer to Christ when they get to heaven.

I appreciate every thing our veterans have done for us. In church Sunday, the preacher ask anyone who was a veteran to stand and they got a standing ovation. It got me to thinking as I looked at some of the old veterans that I suspected were probably WW II, it won't be long until there are no more WW II vets. That is something that this country will sorely miss. My great grandkids will probably never know what it is like to shake the hand of a WW II vet.

My dad was in the Navy when he was 16 during WW II and he instilled in me the love for this country and his pride at being a part of defending it. It is something I try to pass on to my kids and now grandkids.

My apologies to our Veterans for being late here on the Mountain in thanking you all.

I posted this on the other website;

To the Veterans of the United States of America;

I want to take some time to tell you that I so deeply appreciate your service.

In no way do I as one that has never worn the uniform imply that I truly understand what you have gone through, but I do try and I know and have known some Veterans and have thankfully gotten to talk one on one and in small groups on occasions with some wonderful Veterans that I had not had the honor of meeting before.

I used to watch the war stories when I was a young boy, I watch some of the newer and ever so often get to watch some more from WWII and of course listen to real Veterans' accounts of what they went through and witnessed, I like watching Col. Ollie North also as he honors our Veterans and all who fought along side of them.

Yes, I claim to know some about it, but never enough.

This I absolutely know, you are more than worthy of mine and the rest of this country's gratitude.

Without our Veterans and those that served with them we would not be living in freedom in this country and other countries would be in very bad shape had our Troops not gone there.

God bless you for bearing the scares inwardly and outwardly, no one can truly repay you for that and the sacrifices of being away from family and friends or even repay the many families' sacrifices.

I'm free because of you and those that served before you, I will remain free because of the ones that serve today and in the future.

I thank God also for blessing me with being an American.

God bless you and your families in special ways today.

Please accept my thanks from a respectful and grateful heart and mind.

I know some of you don't feel like you deserve to be honored, because you know others that you feel deserve it more than you, I really want to say this; no matter what capacity you served in you have my gratitude and you deserve it.

Today we celebrate ALL Veterans,

Duke

Again my apology for not posting on time-Duke

I'm late joining in on thanking our veterans, as well, on their very special day. Blame it on hanging out with Marines!!! Oh, boy, did I have fun at the birthday ball in Reno!!!! !

I seem to remember Fred Phelps and Al Gore had some kind of business relationship. If my memory is correct, it was thought because of this the jackass has gotten away with so much.

CA Redneck,

Bet you did have a great time at the USMC Birthday Ball ... good for you.

Yes'm it looks like at one time, Phelps and Gore were butt --- errrr --- friends and associates.

Phelps & Gore

Later, when Gore was teamed with Clinton, Phelps changed his tune. The world would be far better off without ALL of these durn players ...

Oh, I had a great time! Dating a retired 20-year Marine now. Sadly, I see one of the heroes killed in the ambush in Afghanistan on the 9th was from the base that sponsored the ball, and where my Marine works. California got hit hard with this one - 2 down south, 1 in Walnut Creek and this hero, whose family lives in Truckee and Reno.

I was just reading about the anti-war jacka$$es in Olympia, Washington. I may just have to do a road trip soon! I sure as hell am getting tired of reading about these miscreants getting away with slamming our military and committing anarchy. I'm also getting tired of reading patriots must take the high road and not get in their faces. It's time to bust heads, if you ask me. Keeping silent is what got us into this mess.

Yeah, I'm a menopausal old broad. Can I use it as a defense, I wonder??!!

I am an Eagle - have been since February! Haven't been on it much the past week. Last I checked it's more damn talk than action. I was on the web team on the main site and I'll just shut my big mouth before I get in trouble!!

Not with Rolling Thunder. I'm a Blue Star Rider. Also with Missing in America Project. Was formerly the state captain for the Patriot Guard Riders in California.

CR,

You won't get in trouble with us ... many of us are fairly (oh hell VERY) outspoken.

Yeah I know the website had quite a few problems at first but I actually believe things are looking up now. I see more action than talk at this time ... in many states, not all unfortunately. There are many changes coming down the pike so I still hope to stand with ya on the line one day.

TD

PS, Notice that Westboro Cult was going to be at Arlington Cemetary on Dec 4 drove me over the line and forced me to do something I had thought about doing for some time but had not done. I joined PG and even notified the State Captain (?) for VA by email, according to the FAQ page. Thus far I have heard nothing. I don't ride but would have been a support vehicle for the riders ... but its been a week with no word. I'll give it some time and see what happens ... then make another decision. I have no problem with acting on my own or with GoE.

TD, don't feel like the lonesome ranger, I joined the PGR and sent them an email when I joined back about 6 months ago asking to be notified of any activities in my area. Some guy sent me an email and told me to contact the state Captain, I did, but never got a reply. He must not use his computer as I haven't heard a peep out of them since.

James,
Thanks, tha's good to know. I figured I'd give him around 3wks to a month to reply and then just figure on doing my own thing. I'm not worried about it but perhaps its a 'sign', hehehehe. I can make my appearance with or without them though so no biggie.

I'm also a life member of Law Enforcement Alliance for quite some time now. In early October I ordered some stuff from their store and still haven't received it. When I called the girl, she says it sometimes takes 4-8 weeks to ship. Pretty sad for a national organization in this day and age, in my opinion.

I'd guess pretty much what you said here. It is probably a location thing and who is doing the contacting.

Our guys in WI PGR are right on the ball! Always getting updates from them and working with 'em right now on our project as a shield for our Families. Was also with em this past weekend for a Fallen Hero. What a GREAT bunch - they are so VERY proud to stand in RESPECT and Honor for the Fallen - and what a great honor it is to be a part of them.

People always thank us for what we do in providing a dignified Honor Guard for them - our only response is that "it is the very least we can do". Every time an old vet walks up and salutes all our flags, it kinda brings a tear to your eye and a lump in your throat - WE should be the ones saluting these vets......

good night all.......I'm just beat.........

Well, my outspokenness has bitten me on the heinie too many times! I'm trying to be more diplomatic in my dotage!

Depends on which Eagle site you're on. Last bulletin I read we were being cautioned to be nice and polite as other organizations didn't like us getting in the face of the treasonous scum and wouldn't align themselves with us. Guess you know my thoughts on that!!!

As one who was a state captain in, sadly, one of the most active states for the PGR, I can tell you the mail can be overwhelming. Not making excuses for the state captains. If they can't handle it, then they should appoint someone to do their mail. After my run-in with a misogynistic vet with a very fragile ego, and the ensuing war and my leaving my position, they appointed three men to do my job! The state, except for the southern end, has fallen apart. The biggest complaint I've heard is the non-responsiveness to e-mail. The best way to keep up on missions is to check the watch list on the PGR home page for any KIA's in your state, and then subscribe to that thread. You'll then know if it becomes a mission. There is also a regional forum, where you will find your state listed. Lots of times the happy missions are posted there. Also, make sure your e-mail address is current. They're supposed to send out a statewide e-mail when there is a confirmed mission.

If you're really unhappy, check out the national leadership contacts, locate your regional captain, and write him/her about your dissatisfaction.

CR,

... yup will keep up via the website unless I hear something else.

re: the play nice with moonbats ... there are some who want us to do that but it ain't a-gonna happen. Here on the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic regions we have been in their face pretty good. In some areas, the moonbats have quit coming out to locations where they had a long history. NC GoE is especially active and delight in being in their face. Today in Chapel Hill NC, GoE will be facing the UNC SDS (Students for Democratic Society) ... remember them from the 60s? Jane Fonda and that hayden dude? Seems the SDS wants to chase out the recruiting station so their marching today. I don't expect much of a turnout though from the moonbats, the weather is supposed to be miserable.

Anyway, tha's just my take. Sorry you have had other interaction. Keep up the fight wherever, whenever!!!

Cheryl, I logged onto the PGR site, went to the forums and my state forum. There I found a post for new members. It had a lady's name and email address to be added to the email subscriptions. I sent her an email and will see if I have better luck than I did by emailing the state Captain. I also told her that I didn't ride a motor, but would like to attend sometimes and that I had gave up riding back after I found out that asphalt is very hard when skidding on it for over 100 feet.

Thanks for posting that info! smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

AMM - You've read the requirement for membership in the PGR - doesn't matter what you ride!!! I am but a passenger on a bike myself - until I get a trike!!!!! So long as you want to pay honor and respect, everyone is welcome. Sheesh, you'd think I was still a state captain!! I actually set the PGR up in California and still feel a responsibility!! They always need "cages" on missions - if the ride captain has his stuff together that is. You can carry flags, water, food, tools for the Harleys that break down!!! A very important function within the PGR.

Glad you haven't been up close and personal with asphalt for a bit. Luckily the spills I've experienced were at very slow speeds!!!!

TD, I will never give up the fight to save our country and back our military. Oh, do I remember the SDS. I was raised in San Francisco!!!!

Captured this from the GoE site ... SDS from the U of NC were going to 'chase' the recruiters out of Chapel Hill NC. This is a blow by blow of the events on November 15, 2007 in Chapel Hill NC.

Quote:

What a success!  Thank you SO much to everyone who turned out today, we had such a blast.  And here’s the report for the rest of the eagles…

I arrived at 2, and hour before I advertised people to show up… only to find I’d been beaten by half a dozen patriots!  The plan was simple- set up along the road to make our presence known, and fall back to the recruiting center when the moonbats got close.  I was pleasantly surprised with the number of honks, waves, and salutes, given that we were in Chapel Hill!  It restored a bit of faith in the world.  By the time things got going we had 27 by my count, they were at about 50.

About 45 minutes later I was introduced via the police to a very nice woman (whose name escapes me!) who was the owner of the shopping center in which the recruiting center was located.  Her official position was to remain neutral between sides, but we all had a very nice chat, and she told us most of her family are vets!  The good and the bad news: no one was allowed to protest on the property, them or us.

The police drew lines on the sidewalk (not literally) for "them" and "us" and told us to stay put.  We asked what would happen should SDS turn down Estes and try to enter through the back of the center-  the police told us not to worry, and we’d cross that if it happened.  Sure enough, that’s what they did, defying police orders and entering the back of the shopping center into the parking lot, where they were surrounded by squad cars.  Our side showed hurculean reserve in staying put while we negotiated for a spot closer to the communists.  But permission was eventually granted, and we went around the corder behind the moonbats, who did a quick 180 while we engaged in dialogue.  They still looked pretty cocky.

Then one of the officers explained the lines again.  "You can come up to this line of cars" he said with a HUGE grin!  And we certainly did, rushing forward like a tidal wave.  The tone of their protest changed drastically-  they looked simply terrified.  It didn’t take long for them to tell the police they wanted out, as they were now trapped between us and a police blockade.  The police moved us over to the side, and they had to run a nice gauntlet to get out.

At this point I stopped to talk to some press.  One woman came by and asked if they were from the papers, and they said yes.

"They treated me very badly" she said "calling me all kinds of names.  They called me a communist!"

I said "But SDS is a communist organization."

"I know" she said "but it was the tone!"

I realzed she was hopeless, and we back around the corner where our guys had chased them down the street.  "Where’d they go?" I asked the cops.  There wasn’t a single moonbat left, after only just a few minutes with the reporters.  "They got a free ride out of here!" he said.  Appearantly they were "escorted" out by police and jumped the first transit bus back to campus!

We celebrated, and talked to some of Chapel Hill’s finest for quite a while.  After a bite at El Rodeo next door, a bunch of us went over to the recruiting office.  It had been closed during the protest, but was now manned again, so we thanked the recruiters for their service (and they thanked us for watching their back!)

So in summary, as Bubba said… "They had a miserable time, and we had a ball!"

No harm came to the recruiting center, because the didn’t even get to the door!  And we got our message out to quite a lot of people, and picked up several new recruits (including one of the officers).  A success 110%!  Thanks again to everyone who turned out, it was amazing!
