A kid named Jared was asked who the worst president was and he said "Clinton, he can't be trusted", this kid is only 11!

Olivia was asked the same thing and had the same answer, she is 12. Hunter 12, Mallory 8, and Blaine 14 all said the same thing here are the links

Without doing much searching I did look at what 8 yr. old white girl Mallory chose as her answer to the same questions given to all those kids and I also looked beyond what you listed at Markelle, he is Black and I think 12 yrs. old.

What I find is basically what I already knew.

Kids are heavily influenced by the closest people to them in their lives, then there other kids, school teachers, any news they watch, programs they watch, video games, music, religion, etc., etc.

One thing that helps keep my hope up is that there are a lot of kids that have more of the better influences in their lives that may be able to live a better example and help others in getting right attitudes and building good character no matter what color, etc., etc.

That is a simplified answer, but I think understandable enough get my shortened thoughts across.

RA, Good post,

Duke ( I'm still wanting an update please in your topic "No Pledge at school")

GWEH,

Thanks for that reply, you and others do a good job with young folks and some of us older folks too.

You, others, and I, have had the opportunity to watch as RA has grown more in the right direction too.

Both he and Nuthin Fancy give us hope for the future of this country.

I would truly be upset if we didn't have many examples today like we do of young folks that show many signs of carrying on what others labored for and tried their best to share with the younger generations in history.

The young folks in many cases have to learn to stand up against the many things that would point them in the wrong direction in life, many are fairly quick about it, unike I was in many ways.

In my younger years I sure did fall for the wrong leadership and examples, while I am thankful to say very many others around me didn't.

I am grateful to so many people for their input in my life, mostly to God.

One of the most wonderful things God gave us was/is the ability to change our minds and learn to make better decisions.

Yes there is a lot of hope,

Duke

Yes I saw what Markelle posted as I saw some of the following people who chose Bush as the worst president we ever had.

Michael
Laurel
Eric
DK

This to me also points out people's ideas also have to do were they live

This kid I found very interesting. He felt a great world leader was Fidel Castor. my grandfather is of a Cuban family and NONE of them like Castro. He also said Bush was on of our worst president. Now not trying to pick on this kid but I am amazed he would chose Castro as a great world leader. Take a look.

RA,

Good point there.

There is a lot that influences people and that includes adults too.

I think the good main idea of your topic is that there are kids already accepting the ideas that are good and upstanding, yes, others are being influenced in not so foundationally good ways.

The sad thing is that some will go the wrong way and your generation will be pestered by them and have to oppose them just like folks have had to do throughtout history and my generation has to do today.

Thank God, they can grow, get wiser and change.

I have a lot of hope in your generation, many of you will grow to appreciate what was done in the past by others that have past the torch of freedom down to the following generation(s).

You and many others have already started standing up for what is right.

RA,

In the context of this subject it is very clear to any normal person that you are not picking on the young one.

It was nice of you to include this line though;

"Now not trying to pick on this kid but I am amazed he would chose Castro as a great world leader."

I for sure agree with you.

You have every right to speak up and I am thankful you care enough to,

Duke

PS:
RA,

I remember times that I have directly disagreed with you before, you and I both remember ( I'm thinking it was)"H" being very rough at you and I also remember the one guy sending you a bad PM on the other site, he sent me some ridculous PMs also :D .

I want you to know that you have earned some respect in ways over time.

I'm looking forward to watching you and some other young folks grow-Duke

I know exactly what your talking about. It was when "H" had been a little rough w/ me on a certain topic I felt very strong on and "H" was very strong on the other point of view. Also I remember when I was given a rude PM, luckily me and that person put that behind us and it's water under the bridge now. I very much respect you as well.

I got PMs from them too, now I can laugh about it, the way they worded them was funny to me in the first place, but it took me a little while to laugh about it with in the right way.

Getting past those things is the best, at 56 I still got growing to do.

In any case most anyone reading your topic posts can tell you weren't picking on the kid that named castro as the best leader, just stating facts.

Thankfully some PMs I get are people with well meaning intentions.

Some that are very uplifting and some that are good conversation.

I think that no matter how old a person gets they still have certain kinds of others' influences in their lives and everyone has some kind of influence on others and make some kinds of impressions too.

We just have to find sensible balances, learn how to make solid decisions.
Sometimes balance may not be like balance at all because we have to go to one side or the other because there is no midground its either this way or that way.

May seem a bit strange but that is a part of having a balanced life.

I haven't slept since yesterday, so I may not be making much sense.

One thing I got to do is find balance of sleep habit again :D .

God bless yo RA, He knows what you need today, tomorrow, and what you need throughout life,

Duke
