Ok I wanted to start a thread for families. Your families my family all our families! We started one back on the CDB board back before the great wipe out but here is my idea. We talk about our families all the time. We share stories and some pictures and we kinda get to know each other this way. Most of us have never meet in person but we can meet in cyber space.

I want to propose this. Lets share what we want to share our families here. Where you live, what the family does, how many kids,…. Pictures would be great! If you want to share pictures that’s just an additional element. I share a lot of pictures because to me pictures say 1000 words but tell us a little bit about yourself. Some of you might think we know about you but that may not be the case. I'll start this off and put pictures in later when I can.

Born in FT Worth TX but grew up in Colorado. Oldest of 6 kids grew up in a single parent home. Mom did the best job she could. Went to Catholic school all my life and graduated HS in 1982. I married my HS sweetheart (Lisa) 2 months after school and we began our family right away. I have 6 kids 5 girls and 1 boy. Ages are 25,24,21,4,4,and 2 BUT he thinks he is 5 does that count????

Wife and I have been married 25 years and along with our kids we have one granddaughter (chesney)! She is 4 months younger then my little boy :) Ok while I would like to pass this off as me being a STUD it's not what you think :) We began adopting addition children 4 years ago and were in the finalization process for the 2 littlest ones now. Hoping to be done with that by late oct of this year.

Been a Marine for 21 years and plan to retire in 2011 and move back to Colorado. My wife runs a home day care so we have kids in our home A LOT! :)
LOVE to hunt, fish camp, 4X4's, camping, heck anything out doors!!

Getting ready to go back to Iraq for the 3rd time and will be moving to Japan in the summer of 2008. LOTS of stuff going on in my life starting NOW!

OK I'll post some picture after I get home but I would really like to keep this thread going and debate free.

OK let the fun begin!! :biglol:

OK here are some of the kids. Isahia and dad washing moms taxi!

People only call me Alison when I'm in big trouble or they're mad at me! I was born in Florida, moved to New York when I was seven (The 'Great Divorce'), raised by my Mom and Grandma.
Married Pete twenty six years ago and have a son (23) and a daughter (20). They are the pride of my heart! We are 'owned' by a dog (who I now talk about too much since the kids are grown!), and four cats! We live in an old home (also 'owned' by the animals!), built in 1810. We love living in the country and being outdoors. We live a simple life.
My biggest and best dream, is to someday sell it all, buy an Airstream Trailer and travel across this Great Nation of our's ....Pete's not quite used to that idea yet, so it might take awhile!
That's me! :)

I was born on July 10, 1962 in Biloxi, Mississippi. I am the 5th of six kids. Like Gary I attended Catholic schools growing up. I graduated in 1980 (honor graduate) and went straight off to basic training (some summer). My father (deceased) was my recruiter. He retired after 37 years in the ARMY (active for 5 years) and the NATIONAL GUARD (AGR for 17, civil service technician 15). I've been in for 24 years (going on 5 years of being mobilized and trying for more) and have enjoyed every minute of it. Had a 3 year break to help my mom take care of dad when he got sick. I did spend a year in Kuwait and may be heading back.

My wife's name is Pamela. We met in '98 and got married in '01. She has two sons from a previous marriage and they have blessed us with 2 beautiful grandkids. So, we divide our (my leave time) between Austin, Tx and Lehigh Acres, Fla. Pamela is the light of my life. We enjoy traveling, the beach, and reading.

Before I was mobilized I worked in the restaurant business for 23 years. I've done everything from bussing tables to running some rather large kitchens. The last placed I worked was a restaurant owned by my cousin. I helped her open it and ran the kitchen. They still use a lot of my recipes. Because of my cooking skills I did two dinners for the command staff and other dignitaries while I was in Kuwait. But I really enjoyed cooking for my unit whenever we had a party over there. Cooking is my hobby.

The rest of my family: mom (Patricia) is 76; Chuck is 54; Susan is 53, Patti is 49; and John (Gulf War Vet) is 43. Kaylyn died when she was 8 months old and I never got to see her since she was born in 1960. Lost my last grandparent earlier this year--she was 99 (30 days short of her 100th).

Gary, that's a nice looking family you have. I don't have a lot of pictures to add, but I'll try to post something here about my family as soon as I get some extra time.

I'll add this though. I raised a daughter and son and both of them are on their own and turned out to be decent people that anyone would be proud of. Then we adopted two more and still have the youngest one living here at home. The oldest one is in college.
