This was posted at GoE and I thought it should also appear here. Amazing that the left is emailing our military forces 'Negative' comments via email.

From Wake up America.

From: Colonel Simcock, USMC"US Marine Colonel Simcock, the commander of USMC Regimental Combat Team 6 in Iraq, is asking for 6,000 positive emails to his Marines.

That's one email for each Marine in his RCT command. COL Simcock is concerned about the effect of the negative barrage that those Marines are getting through the electronic media.

(not sure how to post email addy's on this site. I couldn't figure out the process and get the email link to work but this should be the EMAIL addy that you may copy/paste into your own email server. Thanks and sorry for the confusion. TD)

RCT-6lettersfromh@gcemnf-wiraq.usmc.mil

"If you're reading this email, then you can probably click on the address, type a few words, and then hit "send" to be all done.

It doesn't have to be the Gettysburg Address. Something as simple as "Hello, Marine, We thank you for what you're doing”.

“You are in a noble task. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Best wishes &get home soon" is more than sufficient.

I find that the part I put in bold is the most offensive. Whether you agree with the war or not, to send a "barrage of negative messages through electronic media" to our troops is utterly outrageous. It is not the war that is demoralizing them, it is the negative barrage of messages through electronic media as per their own commander.

Do people NOT understand that our troops, in this day and age of the internet, are seeing what you are saying…. and so are our enemies?

These morons deliberately ignore that simple basic concept as they are spewing their hatred.

Our troops need to know we appreciate them and all they do for us.

Is it THAT hard to actually give them that support?

For some it seems to be. They should be ashamed of themselves.

EMAIL A MARINE. Tell them how much they mean to us. Take 30 seconds right now and just do it, ok?

Thank you.

As the Colonel points out, the email doesn't have to be the Gettysburg Address. Plain and simple, from the heart and to the point. These young marines need to know the American people are behind them. Mine was the way I feel and believe our military men and women will appreciate it. As an example ONLY I am posting my short email ...

Hey Marine,

Thank you for your service to our great country. Your service is invaluable to all
Americans. We have your back on the home front so you just concentrate on the tough
job you have where you are serving. You are now and forever a warrior and brother
to all vets, past present and future.

It's hard to believe that our own citizens would send nasty messages to our service men and women who are putting their lives on the line for the rest of us. It seems like it's become an obsession with some people. It really makes me sick.

Thanks for posting this to let us know what's going on so we can counteract it with good messages.

I sent mine.

Hello Marine,

I just wanted to thank you for your service to our country. What you are doing is very valuable to America and American citizens. Keep up the good work that you are accomplishing there and we will try to make sure everything back here in the homeland is running smoothly. Our country was formed from people just like you and we have had and continue to have our freedoms because of our military.

You guys and gals are doing a great job in your defense of civilization. While there are idiots that can't see the importance of what you are doing, there are many millions of us who do and applaud your efforts.

We have a great President and the best military in history.

I was in Vietnam and our loved ones were harassed by these very same liberals. It angered me then and the same ones still anger me now. My heart sinks when anyone of you are injured or worse. I hate that part and share that grief with you as only one who has lived it can. Your war is much more difficult than mine was, but there is much more at stake now than then. Our fight was in defense of a people who wanted democracy and freedom. Your fight is for a civilization that does not want religious slavery. The same people are trying to give away the gains of blood that you have fought and died for. I treasure the blood lost and now, as in Vietnam, don't it to be wasted by a few that do not understand and who think that freedom id free.

Do your job and be proud of being able to do it. I wish I still could!

Regards Thomas R. Barnes - SSGT. USAF AFAT4/ALC Bien Hoa, RVN
