MRC NEWS REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 7, 2007 Liberal media bias was on full display on NBC's "Today" show this past Tuesday. Fueled by the Larry Craig scandal, anchor Matt Lauer began by listing Republicans caught in scandal-- concluding that almost no one wanted to vote for a Republican president now. That didn't sit well with guest Tom DeLay, who took the offensive and gave us one of this year's "must-see-tv" moments--exposing the liberal media's "double standard" and its rampant bias against conservatives and the Republican party. After calling Lauer out, DeLay began listing Democrats caught in scandals--notably William Jefferson (who was caught with $90,000 of marked bills in a freezer). Lauer, losing control of the interview, frantically responded that there was "an awful lot of coverage of William Jefferson." Not exactly. Our MRC Analysts informed me that NBC's "Today" has never once aired a report explaining the Jefferson scandal. Read about this and more in Brent's column: http://www.mrcaction.org/r.asp?u=2143&rid=11888451 It's a daily "double standard" for NBC's "Today" show. Following Tuesday's debacle, I guess they needed some time to soothe their wounds. Can there be a better liberal salve than Bill and Hillary Clinton? Wednesday's show devoted the entire 7:30 a.m. half-hour to the two--discussing Hillary’s candidacy and Bill's new book "Giving". During the half-hour liberal love-fest, Lauer brought up the issue of too much money in politics but never mentioned the couple's fundraising scandals. He also asked about Larry Craig’s sex scandal, but not surprisingly, never mentioned Bill's indiscretions. Concluding the session, Lauer wished for even more time with the two. Hmm, I wonder if Lauer offered DeLay the same sentiment the day before? Read the full MRC CyberAlert article: http://www.mrcaction.org/r.asp?u=2144&rid=11888451 It's the report the network morning shows don't want you to know about. The Media Research Center has just concluded an exhaustive "campaign coverage" study assessing all TV morning- show coverage on the three major networks from January 1, 2007 through July 31. What we found will shock you! Read the MRC Special Report, "Rise and Shine on Democrats," and demand the media report fairly on the Election and the candidates. Almtnman, Veeery good post. I remember Matt Lauer trying to get some Troops in Iraq to say something against the war, but it backfired on him, they told it like it was, that didn't brighten his day at all. Thanks for a very good post, Duke |

I was shocked the other night when Sean Hannity tried to 'cover' for Senator Craig. He sounded foolish, to say the least. What's happened to us? Has deception suddenly become "OK" if the media can make it so? |

The Media has turned into nothing but, a propaganda machine for the Left and the Globalist Elites and is being used to change the fabric of this once great nation into a people that are more accepting of the Political Correctness and Socialist agendas that are taking this country down the drain and robbing us of our identity as Americans. They are caught using half truths, bending the truth, not reporting when they know the truth all the time, yet people still believe them when they put it on TV. I am sick of them having the power to influence elections for the left . They are always covering up for the politicians that they like when they are some of the biggest crumbs on earth but, if they find out a Conservative got a J-walking ticket it is in the headlines for months. For example, the looting of the White House when Clinton left. If a Republican had done that , they would still be talking about it. There definitly exist a double standard and it is so odvious who is who in this deal. |

Media bias is so blatantly PRO-Democrat, that it is just plain sickening. Thanks for the good posts! Examples of media bias can also be found at Accuracy In Media Here is a little more bias (I consider this bias, because the media NEVER reports this kind of GOOD NEWS) Iraqi Army Withdraws From Fallujah
THIS IS HUGE AND EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!! A city that was the most dangerous in the world, is now under the control of its own people, due to the hard work of our American Military in clearing the city of insurgent slime Al Qaeda, helping the leaders of that city reconcile with the US Military and provide protection and security to it so that the Iraqi Army could talk over from there, and now the Iraqi Police is in control of security - a level that is what our normal US cities are like. REMARKABLE!!!!! The "CAN DO" and "NEVER GIVE UP" of our US Marines and Army have brought this once terrible city, to a level that all had hoped, but never dreamed / but many of us still prayed.......it would achieve. It took allot of hard work, costed many American Soldiers their lives, as well as innocent Iraqi's, but here it is - an example of proven success of our efforts in Iraq....... and not one cricket chips in MSM about this....... |

That's right CW, a lot of the media's dishonest bias is in what doesn't get reported. We are seeing this also in the run for president. You would think there where only 4 or 5 candidates if all you watched was the nightly news and it definitely applies with world events. We don't know half of what is going on because the Media won't tell us what goes against their kumbiya globalist message. |
