Our local town has a parade on Labor Day weekend every year. The local VA leads the parade, carrying the Stars and Stripes. As they passed our families' yard, the entire yard full of people rose to their feet, removed their hats, stood at attention and place their hats/hands over their hearts as we watched "Old Glory" pass before us. One of the Vets kept looking back at us as if he couldn't believe there was an entire yard full of patriots. I didn't notice whether the rest of the town paid tribute to the flag or not, but we did our part.

Ruler of the Hill Posts: 781 Group: Member Member #56 Joined: November 19, 2006	Welcome Silver. I spent Labor Day at my Sister's. Had a great time. Big bonfire, roasted wienies and had smores. Got to play with my two Great, Great Nephews. We had a great time! I brought some kiddie fireworks left over from 4th of July so I was a big hit with the two little ones! My Aunt came and visited for a while so we got a picture of the boys with their Great, Great, Great Aunt! That was pretty cool. Also, I camped out in the yard. I hadn't been camping all summer and the weather was perfect for it. Course I wasn't too far from the indoor plumbing which made it just that much sweeter!
