The mayor must have lost his thinking cap. I went to his contact site and sent him an email, doubt very seriously that he will respond though.

I can't believe they would allow this to go on and especially two days before 9/11. It's infuriating to say the least!

It's like the Nazi's who like to march through Jewish neighborhoods. That kind of hateful antagonism should not be allowed.

I just emailed the mayor too.

Maybe it's a really good plan! Did you ever go smelting? You can catch lots of those little fish with just one swoop!!
My Edit - had to look up the Gadsden Flag - the one that says "Don't Tread On Me".
This is the kind of news that makes me feel as though I'm being trampled.

Just adding this to the thread ... it is loosely related ...

Lets call this "Thugs on Patrol" ... an article of Cair 'thugs' making a visit to a Marine Officer's home in the dark of night because they didn't like his bumper sticker

Cair Thugs On Patrol

Coming to a neighborhood near you ...

Here's the email reply I just received from Mayor Bloomberg. I guess this is why I will never travel to New York City.

Quote:

Dear Mr. Rxxxxxx:

Thank you for your recent letter expressing your concerns about the upcoming Muslim American Day Parade.

People have always come to New York from all over the world, bringing different customs, traditions, and faiths. This incredible diversity is one of the things that makes New York the greatest City in the world. New York's Muslim community is a vital part of our city, and it would be terrible mistake for anyone to implicate a whole group of innocent individuals - no matter what their faith - with the terrible acts committed on September 11, 2001.

In the aftermath of the attacks, our City united as never before - and we remain united today, across all ethnicities, races, and religions. I can think of no better response to the terrorists than demonstrating our determination to stand together as New Yorkers and as Americans, celebrating the unity we have found in our diversity.

Sincerely,

Michael R. Bloomberg

Mayor

Hmmm reads like the mayor received a ton of email in regards to this parade. His staff had to draft a politically correct reply.

I'm with you, I have no need to ever visit NY. I was there on a 3 day pass when I was stationed at Ft Devens Mass for AIT. Didn't see to much to celebrate then, don't see to much to celebrate now.
