I know that you have to have a lot of money to run for office. You need money for traveling in private jets and money to slander your opponent in T.V. ads ...and I suppose you need money to 'hob-nob' with other 'important' people so that you get more money. To run for office, you also have to be popular. It doesn't matter if you are popular for being a 'good person' or popular for being 'bad'. People just have to know who you are by hearing your name in the media to much. I just wonder still, why a person has to have money (lots of it), and has to be popular (among the rich), to run for President when most of us aren't rich or popular. WE are America, and our candidates know nothing about us. |
