This is absolutely sickening!!! 03-14-2007 Gay Indoctrination Infuriates Chicago Parents by Steve Jordahl and Wendy Cloyd Mandatory class for freshmen includes section on accepting homosexuality. Parents of freshmen at Chicago's Deerfield High School say students are required to attend lectures on gay sexuality, and then sign a contract forbidding them to talk about it afterward. Ellen Waltz's son and his friends told her about the lectures -- delivered by other students -- and the contract. "[They said,] 'We had to sit there and listen to them tell us about their feelings and what it's like to be gay,' " Waltz said. "They make them sign a contract stating that they won't say anything that's in the room." Lora Sue Hauser, a school-issues adviser for North Shore Student Advocacy, said a group of boys told her school officials threatened those who were reluctant to sign the contract. "[They were told] 'You will sign this or you will go to the dean,' " Hauser said. Dr. Sue Hebson, vice-superintendent of the school district, told Family News in Focus that there is no contract. She also denied that the classroom discussions involve sexuality. "That's not part of the conversation," Hebson said. But Hauser said that's just not so. "During the semester they have a panel of gay, transgender (and) bisexual students who speak to these freshmen," she said. "Sometimes they talk about statistics and causality." Parents complained last year when the school asked students to match sexually deviant terms with their definitions. The school responded by posting the curriculum information behind a password-protected page on the school's Web site. Matt Barber, policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America, said this year’s freshmen orientation is part of an aggressive plan to corrupt American sexual practices. "If you can maintain control of undeveloped and impressionable youth and spoon-feed them misinformation -- lies and half-truths about dangerous, disordered and extremely risky behaviors -- then you can control the future and ensure that those behaviors are not only fully accepted, but celebrated," Barber told World Net Daily. Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said it is important for parents across the nation to realize that this is not an isolated incident. "Schools in many states are opening their doors to outside gay-rights groups who conduct so-called gay-awareness events or diversity days," Cushman said. "And there are now more than 3,000 pro-gay clubs in high schools nationwide." Parents in Deerfield must take a stand, she added. "These public school officials are blatantly disrespecting local parents and students who hold different viewpoints," Cushman said. "But the good news is that parents and students can fight back by standing up for their equal access rights." TAKE ACTION Chicago residents can e-mail local school board members at Township High School District 113. |

Wouldn't it be nice if the schools began teaching things like reading, writing, arithmetic, and'real' history once again? To listen to them whine and moan about no pay raises sickens me as well ... when they begin teaching again, come talk to me. Until then, stay out of my family and home ... |

They dont want to give us school vouchers cause we'd all send our kids to schools where that crap isn't taught!!! It's sad when the only real option many have is home schooling. I know I'm not qualified to home school, I'm glad my kids are pretty much out of it now. Last one graduates in May. |

I haven't signed on to the vouchers program yet ... I keep thinking of the old american dream --- work to move to a better neighborhood with a neighborhood school and better yourself, your family, and your surroundings. Somewhere along the way that dream got shoved aside ... actually I believe it was in the civil rights changes when they began to bus children to other schools. I too am glad that my kids are long gone from schools ... but I bet you ARE smart enough to homeschool. The thing the media and critics don't publicize about home schooling is that it DOES have structure and there are guidelines that must be met. I've known several women who have homeschooled. Some of them I WOULD question their 'smart' factor but we had fun    To a woman, they did an excellent job in home schooling their children and the kids turned out MUCH better behaved and just as knowledgeable, if not moreso, as the kids in public schools. |

It's been going on a long time now. Sixteen years ago when my son was 15, I went to talk to his counselor about his classes. While I was there I asked her what they teach as far as sex education goes. She told me the school nurse would be teaching that class and gave me an outline of what would be taught. I asked her if abortion was condoned as an option, she said they don't come out and say that ,but if a student brings it up they tell them it is a choice they have, and that they do have Planned Parenthood come in and talk to the kids during an assembly. I told her that I am strongly opposed to Planned Parenthood, and that abortion is not an option in my house. I told her to let me know what day they were coming and I would keep my son home that day. I also put my wishes in writing to my son's homeroom teacher, the school nurse who was teaching the sex-ed class, and the Principal. A couple of months went by and my son came home and told me that Planned Parenthood had been there that day, and that he went to the assembly. I couldn't believe it! I had a meeting with the principal and he told him that my parental rights had been violated, and he told me that it was my son's fault for going to the assembly when he knew I didn't want him there. He was trying to take the blame away from himself and place it on my son. I think he had a point to a degree. My son was partly responsible, he should not have gone to the assembly, but, he was a 15 year old boy and I knew he wouldn't want to be embarassed by telling his teacher that his "mommy" said he can't go listen to Planned Parenthood. That's why I said to let me know when they would be there, and I would keep him home. I told the principal that since he was a 15 year old boy, I tell him what to eat, what to drink, when to wake up, where he can or can't go, when to come home, and when to go to sleep. In other words I am the adult and his parent, and I will decide what's best for him. I made my wishes known to the Principal, counselor, nurse, and teacher. I thought I had covered my bases. I also talked to his teacher who apologized and said the he "just forgot", because my son was the only one in the whole school who wasn't supposed to go. I told him that I wrote him a letter and that was exactly the reason he should have remembered. I wanted to know what Planned Parenthood presented to the kids during the assembly and asked the prinicpal to find out what school they would be going to next. He said he would let me know, but he never did. They just kept giving me the run around until finally the school year ended. So the moral of the story is that they don't care what you want as a parent, they're going to push their agenda to indoctrinate our kids to their perverted way of thinking whether we like it or not. That should not be supported by our tax dollars! I am all for school vouchers. I don't think it matters what neighborhood you live in, they are still going to push this crap on our kids. It's social engineering and we can't let them win, our kids are too important! |

SP, the neighborhood we are living in we moved into because it had the best school district in the area. We are 1 1/2 blocks from the grade school and walking distance from middle school and high school. I am so disgusted with the schools here. I had to bust my son to them for skipping school. They went to block scheduling and gave everyone a study hall called seminar. He was skipping seminar, leaving the campus with friends and then coming back. The school's response to me was that I should be glad he's coming back for the rest of his classes. Like he was acting responsible by going back to school!!! I told them I didn't want my son leaving the campus and was told they have so many students leaving for legitmate reasons that they can't monitor all of the kids. I'm supposed to feel secure in sending my child to a school where they can't monitor who is in the building? I think we would have been better off moving into a less expensive neighborhood and sending the kids to private school. |

Please do not lump all teachers into that category! My second daughter has been a teacher for the last 2 years. She teaches special needs children. She has been kicked, hit, bitten, peed on, had fecis thrown at her, endured all manner of foul language directed at her, etc. Yet she still loves these kids. It's the parents she has the most trouble with! Her inbox is full of hate mail every day from parents who think their children should be either let do whatever they want, or that they should be showing vast improvement. She will be leaving the special needs department next year and take a 4th grade class. Most of the teachers that are being pains are indocrinated to the new age, homosexual, whatever agendas in college and continueing education classes. Just my worth.Granny |

My wife is an elementary school teacher. I wouldn't be a school teacher for any amount of money, I see what they have to put up with. I thank God that there is still a lot of good teachers, but there is also a lot of leftist liberal activists too that will not stop until they are in total control of what a student can or cannot be taught and parental rights are at serious risk. The leftist liberals and even some religious folks have made the educational system in this country a battle ground for the hearts and minds of America's youth. Thanks, Duke |

TG Please be assured that I do not lump all teachers in this group, I know a few that are good Christians and don't buy into the Humanist garbage that is being pushed on them to teach our kids. And yes I know that these teachers have a tough road to hold when it comes to doing their job because of the caliber of the parents and the poor neglected(mostly neglected by not spanking their butt) children that are sent into the public school. However what I was referring to is the problem that we have in this country with the teachers and principles and Superintendents that bring their Liberal indoctrination and bias that they learned in college, into the public school where they try and in turn spread it to our kids. Even in the small town school where my kids go we have had to fight to make them allow our kids to express their faith by having prayer before school at the Flag pole. We have had to go to the school several times to stop teachers from reading books with questionable material in them to our kids alloud in class. We have even had one teacher tell a student that she was stupid for believing that JESUS was anything more than a man in History. We also have had to take our kids out of school because they where showing movies that had profanity and partial nudity. This is the type of stuff we face and I am sick of it and the teachers unions, don't get me started. Yes there are some good teachers but, I could count them on one hand out of the 50 or 60 in my kids school. I too am in favor of vouchers and making public school accountable and have to compete with private schools. And another thing, These teachers howl because of President Bush's no child left behind legislation. The reason they don't like it is because it holds them accountable. I thank God for standerdized testing because it tells us exactly who is and who ain't doing there job as a teacher in the school. I especially am thankful because my daughter was in a class where the teacher wasn't doing her job and these test exposed it and we where able to make up the ground at home because we where made aware by this the results of the test. I would agree that it needs fine tuning and some of the red tape should be done away with and I would agree that good teachers should have raises and be taken care of but, I also think the ones that ain't should be repremanded and after it is odvious they ain't cuttin it should be fired. We also need to bring prayer and discipline back into the school. They threw out the Bible prayer and the paddle and they wonder why they got hell in the classroom. |

The quantity of Libs in our school system is frightening. I am especially concerned about them blatantly voicing their opinions on the war and lack of respect for our President. Don't get me wrong, I am frustrated with him too, mostly for the mess that we are in with illegal immigration, but we need to teach patriotism in our schools. There is a Globalist agenda, which seems "nice" at a glance, but what happens when the US cannot support the rest of the world? All of our culture and traditions will be lost, and it will be chaotic here, like it is in so many other countries. |

When my kids graduated from (public) high school, I felt like a great burden was lifted from my shoulders, and I'm sure the kids felt the same way. There are so many things that are not taught in school, and so much that are not taught by parents. Some parent's might just not care, and teacher's are told they are not to get involved. Plain old common sense doesn't seem to reign in our schools any more. ....or our homes. |
