I just remembered one more thing that absolutely has to be addressed and that is putting an end to the "anchor baby" law. I think at least one parent has to be a citizen of this country in order for the baby to become a citizen even if it's born here.

So here's a short list that I think would be a giant step in curbing illegal immigration:

1. Secure the border.

2. Enforce the laws already on the books.

3. Deport aliens that are in gangs and all criminal aliens.

4. ICE should continue sweeps of illegals at job-sites, and day labor sites.

5. Increase fines for employers who hire illegals.

6. End 'anchor baby' citizenship.

I don't think it has to be hard as they are making it, and it surely doesn't require 800 pages of mumbo jumbo!

I completely agree with your list here, Linda.....

And TD's additions.

I think yous guys may find this interesting as to what is happening in our neck of the woods....Green Bay area has a high level of hispanics working in both farms and meat packing industry....so I find this rather profound:

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=603071

Quote:

Green Bay - Green Bay may well become the first city in Wisconsin to crack down on illegal immigrants, a move that has already generated criticism from Latino, religious and business leaders.

Frustrated with the lack of immigration reform at the federal level, Green Bay officials say they have decided to follow about 100 other local governments from coast to coast in taking it upon themselves to try to discourage illegal immigration.

"Some aldermen said they were concerned that Green Bay might become a sanctuary city for illegal aliens," said City Council President Chad Fradette, the driving force behind a proposed ordinance called the Legal Immigrant Protection Act.

"We learned from the city of Hazelton, Pa., that there are ways to deter illegal immigration, and I thought I'd test the waters to see the public sentiment." (Hazelton's effort to prohibit renting to or hiring illegal immigrants wound up in federal court; a decision is expected early in summer.)

AND guess what organization is going after Green Bay for this?????

YEP, you guessed right.....the "good 'ol ACLU" *spit*

Did yous guys know that the latest troll fanatic at the CDB board, ignorant70 is a card carrier of the ACLU....or at least claims to be.

Linda,

A couple of comments about your list ...

Quote:

3. Deport aliens that are in gangs and all criminal aliens.

They are all criminal aliens due to violating federal immigration laws when they enter this country. Additionally, they continue to violate federal, state, and local laws when they report erroneous social security numbers, purchase false documentation and drivers licenses, and skip out on debts/leases when they move overnight.

Quote:

4. ICE should continue sweeps of illegals at job-sites, and day labor sites.

Add a sub-heading --- empower state and local law enforcement to actively identify and arrest illegals through job sweeps, construction site sweeps, day labor site sweeps, identity checks during traffic stops, etc.

Dawg, I know they are all criminals by coming in illegaly in the first place and like you said the identity theft and fraud they commit make them criminals too. If we Americans committed those crimes we would have our property confiscated and thrown in jail. I think the same thing should happen to the illegals who commit those crimes. Right now only American citizens are held to the law and the illegals can do whatever they want. It's just not right and it's time to take this country back!

I think we should first start with the violent criminals on the streets and in the jails. They need to be deported, of course only after they build the fence and position more Border Patrol Agents there to patrol without the fear of being imprisoned for doing their jobs I might add!

After they do that they can start locating and deporting the ones who have committed the other crimes you listed.

Yes, the police have to be empowered and required to ask for proof of legal status of these people. I also think schools and hospitals, landlords, etc. should have to ask for proof and be mandated reporters.

We have to stop dangling the carrot!

Some of the bill makes sense to me.  If you send the dude back to follow his steps to "amnesty", he may not even come back.

The bill will give permanent Z visas to all the illegals and allow them to stay here forever if they want to.

The bill only required people who want citizenship to "touchback" their country of origin and they would be guaranteed re-entry. Many won't bother becoming citizens if they can just stay here indefinately.

As far as China goes, I'm sure some of their profits go to their military - so do ours - so in that respect, what is fair, is fair.

From my understanding the products are made with slave labour who only make a few cents a day and the rest goes to support the military.

Now local city council members are trying to circumvent the will of the people.

The endorsement by a major city mayor of a document described as "The Declaration of North American Integration" represents a long-term effort by local governments to bypass state and federal governments and work directly with Mexico and Canada to create agreements that integrate the continent below the radar screen, charges an activist.

According to the NAITCP brochure, the Kansas City Declaration reads in part, "We have come to realize that our communities in Mexico, Canada and the United States are closely linked to each other, and that we share profoundly in this emerging North American economic system.
"The answer is to move forward together," the declaration continued. "We will deepen the ties among our communities. The economic vitality and social integration of our communities demand open, dynamic and secure borders. We encourage our respective governments to dedicate sufficient resources to create 'smart' and efficient borders. Likewise, we urge our governments to assist us in forming a 'North American Transportation and Infrastructure Committee' that will formulate a strategic vision for an integrated regional logistics system."

Please read this Petition and sign it if you see fit.

Thanks

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, President
Grassfire.org

++100,000 petitions needed for August 20-21
Security and Prosperity Partnership Summit!

8/13/2007

Linda,

Just days ago, I sent you a chilling message about a coming North
American "framework" that would eliminate hard borders between
Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.
Such a plan would also hasten the
demise of the United States as we know it, and usher in a
North American Union--similar to the European Union!

This may be the greatest threat to our nation that few know about.
That is why I am again asking members of our Grassfire team to
take immediate action with me by adding your name to our
national petition opposing any and all efforts to establish
a North American "framework."

Please click here to add your name to our petition:

http://www.grassfire.org/89/petition.asp?RID=13369445

+ + Key Summit Meeting Next Week

Linda, in one week, President Bush will be joining Mexican
President Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Harper for the
second Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summit in
Canada. As I mentioned in my first message, the SPP is what
many believe to be the beginnings of the infrastructure for
the North American Union.
Read the SPP’s stated goal:

"...Consolidate our action into a North American
framework to confront security and economic challenges,
and promote the full potential of our people, addressing
disparities and increasing opportunities for all."

This is a dangerous plan that threatens every American citizen,
and I need your help to expose it for what it truly is--a
terrible, almost Orwellian threat to our sovereignty.

Next week, I want to deliver 100,000 petitions of protest while
the summit is underway. But I must have at least 100,000 petitions!

Please take a moment to add your name to this important petition
by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/89/petition.asp?RID=13369445

After signing, I would also encourage everyone to listen to my
exclusive interview with Dr. Jerome Corsi, who in setting out
to understand why George Bush won’t secure our borders,
uncovered this globalist agenda that is now seriously
threatening every citizen in America. It's a riveting
interview that I believe will motivate citizens to action.

Again, Linda, Grassfire has a unique opportunity to bring
your voice of protest to the SPP Summit next week, but I am
counting on our team members to help push us to our goal of
100,000 petitions in the next 72 hours.

After signing and listening to the Corsi interview, forward
this message, to your family and friends encouraging them
to follow your lead by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/89/petition.asp?RID=13369445

Thank you for standing with Grassfire!

No, I didn't hear about it. The only reason I know about the Spp Meeting next week is because of the email from Grassfire. That's why grassfire wants to get the Petition signed before that.

This whole thing has been done under the radar and the American people. I wonder why? They don't want to hear from us, that's why! Here's a link to an article I posted a while back that actually quotes what the person in charge of the SPP office says about of keeping it quiet.

Quote:

Geri Word, who heads the SPP office within the NAFTA office of the U.S. Department of Commerce affirmed to WND last Friday in a telephone interview that the membership of the working groups, as well as their work products, have not been published anywhere, including on the Internet.

Why the secrecy?

"We did not want to get the contact people of the working groups distracted by calls from the public," said Word.

This really stinks![/color]

Yep, your right LL the meeting is next week. The SPP is up to something pretty shady if they can keep the media blacked out about it. When are people going to wake up and smell the coffee on this one. This is not going to benefit the United States one iota and as a matter of fact it stands to destroy our economy with Mexico being the major benefactor of this whole deal.
I haven't seen anymore reports of the President attending. I am sure if he does we will hear it again from somewhere, although I don't look for it on any of the major networks. If I had the time and money I might consider taking a trip up that way to do a little picketing. Hey if the wackos can do it why can't we.

There will be protests in Canada, but I don't expect to see it on the MSM.
Here's the latest from Grassfire:
From the Desk of:

Steve Elliott, President

++Only 24 hours remain to personally impact the
upcoming SPP Summit. Please see details below

8/16/2007

Linda,

Only days ago, I sounded the alarm for citizens to mobilize
against the upcoming Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP)
summit in Canada. At the time, I challenged our team to help
me rally 100,000 citizen signers in 72 hours!

Linda, in spectacular fashion, our team has responded.
In fact, over the last several days, more than 65,000 citizens
have signed our petition and forwarded our updates to friends.

I'm thrilled to report that as of Thursday morning, 119,814
citizens have added their names to our citizen petition opposing
the North American Union!

And here's the best part. As team members continue to spread
the word about this VERY REAL threat to our nation--hundreds
more are streaming in to sign every hour!

I want to specifically thank Roy J. from Wisconsin, who rallied
189 friends to sign our petition, and Pat B. from South Dakota
who rallied 90. Great work!

+ + Protests Planned in Quebec

I'm also thrilled to report that your petition--and those of
more than 100,000 citizens will be presented at the SPP summit
in Canada!

This is a tremendous opportunity for the Grassfire team to
weigh in on this serious issue--AS IT UNFOLDS!

For too long, the public has been kept in the dark over the
true intentions and agenda of the SPP/NAU, but no more. The
shroud has been lifted, and as we have seen just in the few
days that our petition has been active, citizens of the U.S.
are responding!

Though we’ve reached our initial goal, I'm urging ALL
members of our team to continue spreading the word about
the SPP/NAU crisis. Send this message to 20-30 friends
encouraging them to join the NAU protest with you by
clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.org/89/petition.asp?PID=14252105

+ + Jerome Corsi Interview Part Two

Linda, many team members have emailed our offices asking
for part two of my powerful interview with Dr. Jerome Corsi--
the best-selling author of what I believe is the key resource
on this issue, The Late Great USA--the coming Merger with
Mexico and Canada.

To access part two of my interview with Dr. Corsi, click here:

http://www.grassfire.org/1089/offer.asp?rid=14252105

Grassfire has limited quantities of Dr. Corsi's incredible
book available to team members. To find out more, click here:

Thank you for standing with Grassfire against the NAU.

Wow, the media networks did pick-up on the SPP meeting. It still isn't the headline story that it should be though. I did see that many of the Cunnucks aren't happy about loosing their country either. There were an estimated 1000 protesters at the place where this meeting was to be held. I would love to be a fly on the wall inside that meeting. If we don't get our act together and speak out on this as the American public , we might as well get ready for Canamerimexico to become reality. :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

Is anyone else but me upset about the way our "beloved" president arrived at that meeting? Even the prime minister of Canada mentioned it to Mr. Bush. He arrived in the presidential helicopter, surrounded by a small army of secret service agents. All on our tax dollars, while he was supposedly on vacation. My bosses never paid for my transportation or protection while I was on vacation. Hey, Gary, did you and your wife get your trip to Ireland funded by the Marines????
And yet we pay the bill for our President to vacation in Canada while attending a meeting that didn't really take place and where nothing was accomplished???? And that we'll not hear about until it's too late to change anything?????

Don't you know that Illegal aliens are not really Illegal??

I'm ashamed to be a Kansan, again.

The Kansas Court of Appeals in Barton County stated:

"(Federal law) declares an alien's unsanctioned entry into the United States to be a crime. While Congress has criminalized illegal entry into this country, it has not made the continued presence of an illegal alien in the United States a crime unless the illegal alien has previously been deported and has again entered this country illegally."

The Mexican drug runner that was shot in the butt by Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean has a valid Mexican Commercial Truckers license. Isn't that nice! Mexican truckers that the President says are all screened and pose no security risk to the United States can also be running drugs, illegals, terrorists, weapons because Mexico doesn't have a national criminal data base, and the trucks can get across our border in as little as 15 seconds!

Story link

Quote:

That a drug smuggler such as Aldrete-Davila could hold a Mexican commercial drivers license is proof that Mexico has no reliable method to screen the previous criminal records of commercial drivers who might get certified as "trusted traders" under the Security and Prosperity Partnership definition of FAST lanes designated for use in the Mexican truck DOT demonstration project.

Unbelievable!

It gets even worse! Now the Border Patrol says it's not their job to stop illegal aliens!

I'm going to do some emailing to the Border Patrol and the President about this.

WND Story LInk

Quote:

The sector chief said, "I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Border Patrol's job is not to stop illegal immigrants. The Border Patrol's job is not to stop narcotics … or contraband or narcotics … the Border Patrol's mission is not to stop criminals. The Border Patrol's mission is to stop terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the country."

What does that mean? Does it mean if they stop illegals while entering the United States and determine they're not terrorists they let them go?

I'm just blown away!

Amazing :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

Well to counter what the hispanic section chief has to say about stopping ONLY terrorists ... the illegals crossing the border seemingly without resistance are ECONOMY TERRORISTS!!! Sometimes that is worse than the ones who will blow up buildings or restaurants. Their terrorism affects 300million americans at the same time. Of course, our government doesn't give a rat's a$$ about that as long as they get their cut of money and votes.

PS: perhaps we should begin checking green cards/citizenship papers of those border patrol officers who are in power and setting policy.

You've got that right TD. Just in the past year I heard of a Border Patrol Agent who was found to be an illegal alien himself. How he passed their screening process I don't know.

You would think that for the stink that has been raised in the last 2 years over the Border and Illegals that things would be getting better not worse. That is if you didn't know that the NAU was already a forgone conclusion in the minds of most Politicians and Corporate Elites . It seems like a nightmare conspiracy theory only thing is this one is true and evidence is becoming clearer by the day. American law makers ain't doing nothing and they ain't gonna do nothing unless there is a major showing by the people of the United States to send this thing back to the pit it came from. Why all these secret, no press aloud meetings of the NAFTA and the SPP? We paid for, and a fence was approved, Where is it? They talk more border agents and troops on the border, where are they? The two best candidates for president, concerning national security and the Border have been placed so far down in the polls that it seems like they don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of even staying in the race , let alone winning. Just a conspiracy theory? I think not!!
