I just recieved an email from the dems asking for my help. Here is the link
http://www.democrats.org/page/s/noescalation

Here is my reply:

For over 3 years the Democrats called for more troops in Iraq. You continually berated President Bush for not having more troops there.
Now that he has capitulated and started to increase the troop strength you try to stop him.
I DO NOT support your effort to cause us to loose the battle in Iraq.
YES, I DO BELIEVE that those DEMOCRATS that continually say we can't win in Iraq are helping the terrorists cause and COSTING AMERICAN LIVES.
I URGE ALL REPUBLICANS AND STRAIGHT THINKING DEMOCRATS TO OPPOSE THE QUITTERS.

Please go and support the President.

I recieved that too. Once I had responded sort of like everyone here did, I realized that our responses may have been counted as signatures by the Democrats. Just to offset that, I sent my own wording to the ten email addresses that they allowed in the page. I made they were liberal addressees just so they would know that there are lots that believe they are traitors.

I never thought of a reply being used as a support vote.

I did think that they might just throw those away that don't support the dem's position.

Folks, we cannot give up the fight....

What is happening now, is a whirlpool going down the toilet.

What we can expect to happen in the next year or so is an emminent attack on this country.
Problaby well beyond what happened on September 11, 2001.

EVEN the GOOD NEWS coming from Iraq as of this hour will not stop the Democrats from defeating this president.

Civilian deaths in Iraq drop overnight

EVEN with this PROOF THAT THE SURGE IS STARTING TO WORK, they will still plod on with their new found power to put themselves in control of this country and open it up to their secular-progessive idealism and an emminent attack on this country.

They will stop at nothing to say that Iraq and this country a DEFEAT at the hands of George Bush:
Dems: Iraq Are a Defeat

Like our troops - the dems doom us to loose, but we cannot give up the fight!

I pray that people will take their heads out of the frozen earth and WAKE UP, to the direction that the libs are taking us!

I rec'd this in an email a day or so ago. HOW TRUE IT IS!!!!!

Quote:

The Democrats now promise "A New Direction For America."

The stock market is at a new all-time high and America's 401K's are back.
A new direction from there means, what?

Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Taxes are at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means, what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year.
A new direction from there means, What?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from there means, what?

Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means, what?

Now let me see, do I have this right? I can expect:
The economy to go South
Illegals to go North
Taxes to go Up
Employment to go Down
Terrorism to come In
Tax breaks to go Out
Social Security to go Away
Health Care to go the same way gas prices have gone

But what the heck!

I can gain comfort by knowing that Nancy P, Hillary C, John K, Edward K, Howard D, Harry R and Obama have worked hard to create a comprehensive National Security Plan, Health Care Plan, Immigration Reform Plan, Gay Rights Plan, Same Sex Marriage Plan, Abortion On Demand Plan, Tolerance of Everyone and Everything Plan, How to Return all Troops to the U. S. In The Next Six Months Plan, A Get Tough Plan, adapted from the French Plan by the same name and a How Everyone Can Become as Wealthy as We Are Plan.

I forgot the No More Katrina Storm Plan.

Now I know why I feel good after the elections. I am going to be able to sleep so much better at night knowing these dedicated politicians are thinking of me and my welfare.

Please pass this good news along to all of your friends so they can feel Better also...

I'm at a point where I can either keep quiet and leave my stupidity in doubt, or go ahead and open my big trap and remove any doubts !! Oh well, here goes anyway..

C W, we are still fightin with the same old strategary that has been used for the past 6 years.. In case you havent noticed, the Enemy Within has changed its tactics since last November.. They captured the High Ground and now dont give a rip if the Valley crumbles to dust along with everybody in it, and a bunch, a WHOLE BUNCH of the people in the Valley are perfectly happy to go along with that..

Our side is now confronted with only 2 options left for the future now..

1) If I expressed what the first option is, I would most likely soon have guys wearin black suits drivin black Suburbans with dark-tinted windows comin to visit me !! I'll leave it at that..

2) We settle for Damage Control and try to ride it out until '08 Elections are over.. The Radicals in the Enemy Within Party are a minority, and the REST are mostly more like us.. Kinda !! The Radicals are in it for the Fame, Fortune, and Power, and to them, The End Justifies The Means.. The Rest, not so much.. To the Radicals, clear and present danger is only a threat to their quest for Power.. To the Rest, it is for them the same as it is to us, a threat to our very survival.. The only difference tween us and the Rest, is what we perceive as Clear And Present Danger, and how far we wish to distance and protect ourselves from it..

To the Radical of The Enemy Within Party, Power, Fame, and Fortune is their "drug of choice" and will beg, borrow, steal, and/or kill to get it, just like a crack-head will to get their next "fix" .. To the Rest, Fame, Fortune, and Power is just a "recreational drug" and they can either take it or leave it dependin on the availablityand cost..

Just like I said above, " To the Radical of The Enemy Within Party, Power, Fame, and Fortune is their "drug of choice" and will beg, borrow, steal, and/or kill to get it, just like a crack-head will to get their next "fix" .. ".. And just like the crack-head, the Radical dont give a hoot-in-hell if you are friend or foe, you just better not get in the way of their next fix, and the ones closest to the Radical and most likely to be seen as gettin in the Radicals way is gonna be the Rest !!

The more we see the Radicals up their spittin and slobberin on themselves, the more the Rest are gonna back-off and distance themselves from the Radicals.. Of course, thats only gonna make the Radicals spit and slobber that much more !! That is gonna create more of "The Ronald Reagan Effect" .. The Rest aint gonna leave their Party, their Party is gonna leave them !!

If the Radicals in the Enemy Within Party have their way, Clear And Present Danger is only gonna get More Clear, More Present, and More Dangerous !! At what point the "light bulb" goes of the Rest's head is somethin I dont know, and I dont know who does.. But this "guessin game" sure is makin me fidgity and makin my fanger itch !!

Speakin of, anybody seen Grits lately ??

WB, I agree completely. Your analysis appears to be without flaw. A comparison that I do is in my mind and goes sort of like this:

Before, Hollywood begged for a meeting with the President of the United States and saw him as the power. Bill Clinton rushed to California to supplicate his position of President to them that made them more powerful than our President. Bill Clinton gave up the power of the Presidency and Hollywood loved being in command. George W Bush could give a hoot in hell what any one of them thinks and they all now lust for power lost. When you see them getting together "for the good of the country" to attack Bush, think about that. You know that none of them are for the good of anyone but themselves.

The Psychodynamics of the Radical Liberal Mind
By Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr, MD

    Sunday, February 11, 2007

The first step toward an in-depth understanding of adult behavior is to comprehend its origins in childhood. Whether adaptive or maladaptive, the enduring patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that define adult personality begin in the early years of life. In fact, our earliest experiences with caretakers and others, acting on inherited temperament factors, strongly determine our later personality traits, including those expressed in political values and beliefs.

The dispositions of the liberal mind are no exception: his hopes and fears, beliefs and passions, values and morals are in great measure the legacy of his childhood from birth through adolescence. The traits that define who he is are the traits that lead him to pursue particular goals in the political arena and to use particular methods to achieve them.

The radical liberal mind’s goals are now familiar, of course, but another brief summary will prove useful in highlighting their essentially childlike nature. Just noted were the grandiose goals of providing for everyone’s material welfare and healthcare, protecting everyone’s self-esteem correcting all social and political disadvantages, educating all citizens, and eliminating all class distinctions.

In his pursuit of these goals, he intends to construct a universal human family, one united in bonds of mutual love, concern, caretaking and tolerance. Through drastic government action the radical liberal seeks the following:
A powerful parental government to provide everyone with a good life and a caring presence.

An elite corps of surrogate parents that will manage the lives of the people through approximately equal distributions of goods and services, just as real parents provide equally for the needs of their children.

A guarantee of material security from the state, similar to that which a child expects from his parents.

A form of parental social justice that cures or mitigates all states of deprivation, inequality, suffering and disadvantage.

A guarantee that negative rights for the protection of individual liberty will yield to positive rights that reduce or eliminate inequalities of wealth, social status and power, just as good parents would balance benefits to their children.

Government laws that will punish the “haves” for their excesses and compensate the “have-nots” for the pangs of envy, just as good parents would do for their children.

Government directives from wise and caring officials that channel the citizen’s initiative and industry through social programs and tax incentives, just as wise parents determine the directions of the family’s labors.

Government policy that instructs the people in how to relate to each other politically, just as good parents instruct their children in how to conduct themselves properly.

Permissive laws passed by sympathetic legislators that lower the obligations of contracts, ease codes of acceptable conduct, and relax the burdens of established institutions such as marriage and adoption procedures, just as indulgent parents would do.

Government welfare programs that free the citizen-child from the duties of altruism, just as parents do.

An international caring agenda that will enhance the family of nations by understanding everyone’s hardships, tolerating destructive actions by others, and empathizing with aggressors to bring them to the negotiating table, just as good parents do in resolving family disputes.

These and other goals dear to the modern liberal heart are remarkable for the childhood needs they address and the adult needs they ignore. As noted in more detail below, what the radical liberal mind really longs for, as revealed in his political goals, is a child’s relationship to a loving family whose caretaking compensates him for the injuries he suffered in his early years. He seeks all of this in the contemporary political arena.

The major problem he faces is that a substantial portion of the population is still competent: it is a population that deeply reveres individual liberty, readily accepts its responsibilities, and passionately opposes its destruction. It is not about to yield to the liberal’s mad dream. Because competent people know that they can direct their own lives and provide for their own security through voluntary cooperation, and because they love a world of freedom in which to live as they choose, they have no need for, and indeed vehemently reject, the oppressive intrusions of liberal government.

What the competent citizen wants, in contrast to the modern liberal, is a coherent and dependable structure for ordered liberty, secured by a limited government that respects the autonomy and sovereignty of the individual and protects his property rights against the constant invasions of collectivism.

The liberal mind rejects this prescription on principle and attempts to overthrow it in government policy. What the liberal seeks in order to feel secure is the modern welfare state with its endless guarantees and endless regulations. This goal is literally fantastic in its own right. But equally irrational is the method by which he attempts to achieve it.

He is willing to use any kind of government power, including power which destroys the foundations of civilized freedom, in order to get what he demands:

Government insured safety and security over the entire lifespan, along with accommodation to his neurotic demands. He seeks through the state that degree of coercion needed to redress the trauma, injustice, helplessness and humiliation experienced at the hands of his original caretakers. He hopes to do this by passing laws that indulge his impulses and exempt him from the proper obligations of mature adulthood.

Considered in its entirety, the liberal’s goal of making the state into an ideal parent/family and his method of achieving it by compelling competent people to do his bidding constitute the radical liberal agenda. Above all, the agenda is a blueprint for the use of irresistible government power. Driven by his irrational needs and desires, the radical liberal mind is more than willing to sacrifice the noble structure of liberty that originally defined America for the shabby asylum of the modern welfare state.

Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr, MD is the author of The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago and served for two years as a psychiatrist in the United States Army. He is currently in private practice in the Chicago area.

I REALLY liked grits and hope he changes his mind to come back to the Mountain.

GRITS WE MISS YA!

On your other to posts WB, YOU ARE SPOT ON!

There is a huge differnence between the Secular-Progressive Liberals in this world and the Traditional Conservatives.

In the SP world it is all about "ME" - and in the Traditional Conservatives it is all about "YOU"

....and maybe a teensy bit me.... :o

But Grits I did enjoy your posts and hate to see you go. I think we have to have a little bit of a thick skin and stick around through some of the rough times. Everybody is bound to get on somebody's nerves sooner or later, ask me...I know. Sometimes I have trouble keeping that halo on! :agl9:

I just discovered that the email addresses do not work if you are not a constituent by residence. I am going to call each number in the traitor column during business hours and read the following to whoever answeres the telephone:

I am greatly disturbed by your cowardice and lack of pride in your nation that prompted you to vote on the side of Vietnamization of Iraq. I am further disturbed by your lack of vision and your lack of understanding of the threat that confronts civilization today in the Islamic assault on humanity. How can anyone who lacks the ability to understand the dangers that face the world today even face the people that were fooled into electing them into offices that they are unfit to serve in? In good conscience, how can any right thinking voter ever vote for your continuation in your present position? Think about those questions. Think about your responses to those questions. Think about what you are going to do in the future to earn a living for your family.

President Thieu of South Vietnam had this to say about America on April 21 of 1975: "The United States has not respected its promises. It is inhumane. It is untrustworthy. It is irresponsible."

I and many others saw the Republican triumph in 2000 as the emergence once again of the United States as a world leader, prepared to honor it’s promises, befriend it’s neighbors, and help the downfallen. That victory also promised a rebuilding of our nation as the preeminent industrial and scientific leader of the world. Because of you and people who think like you, that seems more distant now than ever. Congratulations on becoming a traitor to your party, your nation, and your people.

The Top 11 Threats to America

Mike Baker - Fox News

Quote:

#11 Global Warming… apparently many of you aren’t buying it. In fact, many questioned why it was on the list. Personally, my town’s been socked in with single digit temperatures for the past couple of weeks and snow and ice storms that have left my front yard looking like a scene from the Shackleton expedition. I wouldn’t mind a bit of global warming right about now.

#10 The Erosion of Civil Liberties in the Pursuit of Security… this was very interesting. The overwhelming majority put this in either the #10 or #11 spot. The consensus appears to be that there’s a willingness to sacrifice to some degree in an effort to improve our security posture. Kenny from California wasn’t worried about the government overstepping, noting that “… I have faith in our system of government with its many built in checks and balances.”

#9 China… showed up consistently in the #9 slot on over 75 per cent of the surveys. The general feeling seems to be that you view China as a nation we can work with or at least negotiate with. Mike, whereabouts not cited, mentioned that “… We can prevent their power from passing ours if we work with them and use their economy to our advantage.”

#8 Oil and Gas… here’s an interesting result… most of you (over 60 per cent) commented that oil and gas dependency is a key underlying element of many of the threats cited (Iran, Russia, Venezuela), but on it’s own the topic only merited the #8 ranking.

Justin from the great city of Cedar Rapids, Mich., writes “… People complain about gas that is $2.50 per gallon but then turn around and pay $6.50 for a grande latte mocha carmel frappe whipped with low fat soy cream coffee.” Frankly I only pay $3.76 for my coffee but I suspect we can all get on board Justin’s logic train.

#7 Russia… even with Putin’s channeling of Stalin at the weekend Munich security conference, most respondents had Russia in the #7 slot. Although some were more concerned than others.

#6 Venezuela… he’s my favorite old school Socialist, and apparently he ranks consistently high on many readers lists. Greg from somewhere out there in the hinterlands had an interesting comment, “… Another psychopath with lots of money and now unlimited constitutional power. Of course, we created the environment that he was able to step up into with our dysfunctional Latin American foreign policy.”

Full marks to Greg for noting that the U.S. for many years now has paid little to no serious attention to Latin America. You reap what you sew. Or don’t sew as the case may be.

#5 North Korea… a strong showing with over 70 per cent of respondents putting this isolated and beat down country run by the Kim clan in the #5 slot. Just this past week they demonstrated their unique ability to extract aid from the first world nations by yet again promising to cease and desist with all their nuclear shenanigans. Just to be clear, we will be doing this same thing over again within the next two to three years when this latest aid package runs out.

#4 Iraq… there was some real angst among the respondents with this issue… not over where it ranks (80 per cent had it in the top three position), but rather why it was such a serious concern and threat. Most expressed some variation on the theme that we can’t afford to leave and let Iraq potentially collapse. It is true that the enormous sucking sound would be the vacuum left by Iraq’s collapse just after we left and just prior to the country becoming a battleground for fundamentalists, Al Qaeda, associated elements and regional players with no interest in the welfare or lives of the Iraqis.

However, there is a sense in your responses that, while the majority believe we need to stick it out, the majority is also less than certain that we can make it work.

#3 Al Qaeda... in reality, Al Qaeda was consistently lumped into a larger category by many that used some variation of the term Global Islamofacism. Dale down in Florida commented that “… Al Qaeda will attack U.S. interests when they can, where they can. All they need is some breathing room to regroup. Failure in Iraq could give them that.”

But not all were on board with this ranking. Greg, who opted not to identify his whereabouts, believes that Al Qaeda is “… way over-rated. They spend almost as much time in-fighting as they do fighting. They are largely ineffective.”

#2 The Democratic Party… I kid you not. We had over two dozen additional threats or concerns written-in by readers to supplement the original suggested top ten list. This was the big daddy of write-ins, with almost as many votes as our number one selection. I’d like to include some of the reader comments here, but I’m worried that there may be kids reading the Peoples Weekly Brief.

#1 Iran… selected by more than 80 per cent of respondents to sit at the top of the hit parade. Apparently the combination of President Ahmadinejad, the fundamentalist element, oil revenues and nuclear technology has many sensible, well adjusted people slightly concerned for the stability of the region.
