I recently received a United States Flag from a Marine buddy. This flag had been flown in Iraq on Jan. 16, 2007. I consider it a high honor that this flag was sent to me. The reason that I consider it a high honor is that it came from United States Marines that are fighting and dying in order to provide long term protection for a nation, and an entire world of “We The People’s”. Sadly in many cases, those same “We The People’s” are ignoring the important lesson that should be gleaned from the following story. There is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and “Everybody” was asked to do it. “Everybody” was sure “Somebody” would do it. “Anybody” could have done it, but “Nobody” did it. “Anybody” was angry about that, because it was “Somebody's” job. “Everybody” thought “Anybody” could do it but “Nobody” realized that “Everybody” wouldn't do it. It ended up “Everybody” blamed “Somebody” when “Nobody” did what “Anybody” could have done. I think it’s time all us “We The Peoples” stood up as “Somebody’s” to the “Anybody’s, Everybody’s, and Nobody’s. Many of our elected officials are wringing their hands and whining about making tough decisions as to whether or not to support the mission of our military in Iraq, Afghanistan and other spots in the world where we’re fighting the forces of Islamic Terrorism. In spite of the attacks by these terrorists, and in spite of the thwarted attacks, and in spite of the stated and declared purposes of the Islamic Terrorists to destroy the United States, and to kill any who don’t believe it their particular brand of religion, there are still those who want to wait for “Somebody” else to protect us. The Islamic Terrorists have declared War on the rest of the World and have declared that they will not rest until the entire World is under the thumb of their rule. I for one, as a Non Hyphenated, Tax Paying, Voting United States of America Citizen believe that we should immediately vote out of office any politician that states that they believe that we should enable the victory of these Islamic Terrorists by pulling our troops out of the War before their mission is accomplished. If we don’t all act as “Somebody’s” we will eventually be relegated to being “Nobody’s” by the cowardice of the “Everybody’s and Anybody’s”. |

NHA, it looks like everybody that is running for office wants to pull the troops out or as I call it "cut and run"! These people don't need to be in any kind of political office. They won't get my vote, but the sad part is, I haven't found any of them that are running that I want to vote for. I got one of those flags also and mine was flown the same day as yours. I also felt it to be a very high honor to receive mine. Mine will be shown a lot of dignity.

Welcome to "the Mountain", littlebear! Yes, well Said NHA! What you are seeing is the pressure from the mantra the "Git out Now" crowd in the public having an effect on our elected officials. The "Git out Now" crowd is a brunt of the mainstream media, in claiming that the majority of the country voted for Dimocrats in reaction to the ongoing hostilities in the Iraq war. The media is failing to publicize the brutal violence of the jihad, this is occuring not just in Iraq, but in the whole world. The worst part of this, is that the MSM is SYMPATHIZING with these animals. Calling them "freedom fighters" and anything PC they can think up but what they really are - TERRORISTS! The good news, is those in the Senate that have their head on straight are pointing out to the "Git out Now" crowd on capital hill, that their "non-binding" resolutions are nothing but hurting our efforts in Iraq and giving the enemy encouragement. BASICALLY SUPPORTING TERRORISTS! Those on Capital Hill that have guts to stand up against this have blocked this stupid resolution, that will gain nothing, but be words. Words of support to the enemy we are fighting! |

One of the things I am the most proud of in these years. 1. That I got it and 2. That someone thought enough of me to go to the trouble and expense to go through the process to fly it and send it to me. It is never far from where I am. GWEH, thanks again and you will never know how glad I am that you are back safe. |

NHA, that's a great post. Everybody has to be a somebody. It reminded me of a story I used to read the kids; "The Little Red Hen". There again go the morals and virtues of a great society when we all came together and worked for what is good. Never in our lives were Pete and I so honored to receive a package from a friend we have never met. No words are to describe our Hero's - especially when they couldn't make you any prouder for being an American, or their friend they have never met. |

Actually I was surprised to see our elected Republican representatives show some strength. Those of you who have traitor Republicans in office, let them know that McDonalds is hiring. |
