Tami,

You pay attention to getting better, don't worry about us over here. Do you have some home made chicken soup? You'll feel better after eating some of that. If'n I lived closer, I'd have the wife make up some (but she's a yankee) and bring it to you. You stay in bed as long as you have too ... get well!!!

Get well, young lady!

Hope you are getting help from your physician!

Been thru a few of those bouts of respitory infections / bronchitis. Found out it don't pay to fight it without some good meds from the doc.

And some nice hot soup :coffee:

Tami,

My sis-in-law just had what some call walking pneumonia, it appears it is taking a couple weeks to get over it.

I remember my Momma fixing me chicken soup, w/rice, w/noodles and she would give me plenty of cool ginger ale, and keep me covered snug in bed.

I do think getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty liguids and doing what the doc says is very good, but it appears that all that worked better back in the day when I was nutured by her. :rose:

My wife Sherry is very good at it too, but I will always remember the touch of Momma's tiny little cool hand on my fevered forehead.

Tami thanks for letting us know how you are and I join my prayers w/others for a speedy recovery for you, may those around you wrap you in loving care.

I had one of those a couple of years back, the colonoscopy isn't anything to it, the prepping for it is something else. <_<

Hi everyone. Just thought I would stop in and see how yall are. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. I am feeling some better but still having a really hard time breathing and my sugar has really gotten high. I fixed me some chicken and dumplings and couldn't even taste them. Shoot and they are my favorite. However, I did make me some tater soup and that actually seemed to help better than anything.

I am really touched by yall and want you to know that eventhough I have only been here a little while, I love yall and thank God everyday for each one of you. God bless!!!!!

Hickster,

Man, you coulda gone all day without bringing that up. My doc is trying to set up the appointment for me to get that very thing done. She freaked out when she found out that I'd never had one and I'm 62 now. Not so sure I want to begin now. I've already fired one GI Office because I didn't like 'em or trust 'em with that part of my anatomy. I'm thinking about carrying my gun under the hospital gown when they do the procedure ... JUST IN CASE!!!

Do what I did and put some humor in it. Scream out: "Good God doc! Can we get some Foreplay back there???? Kiss me on the neck when ya do that!!!"

In all seriousness, have someone with you and have them put you out first.

TD, I guarantee you, when the procedure is done, you will never know a thing about it. When mine was done, they got me ready and told me I could watch it on the monitor next to the bed. I said OK, and then the next thing I knew I was asking, "well when are you gonna get started?" They then told me, "we're already finished".

Drinking that gallon of liquid and taking the little pills the day before now, that's the part you will remember. :)

I'm sure everything will go fine and you won't wake up half way through in excruciating pain like I did! :o :( But then I seem to have a bad case of Murphy's Law when it comes to things like that.

It's not as bad as it's made out to be. When I was there, I was surprised at how many others were there at same time having it done. I took my Mother and it was the same then, a lot of folks waiting on the procedure. You'll be OK and it's nothing to worry about. :dancing cool:

Dawg, They use two little one and a half oz bottles of mighty salty stuff now. Not nearly as bad as the gallon of salty/cherry flavored stuff I had to drink the first time. After that one was all over, I called the Doc and told him that I wanted a prescription for ten gallons of that stuff. He asked what for? I told him I was hosting a Democratic Party event and needed coctails. Mixed it with vodka and stayed away from the bathrooms.

Dawg, don't worry about the procedure. Honestly, the worst part this time was the not getting to eat for the day and a half prior. Went in this morning, they preped me, and then I woke up and got driven home. While knowing what they are doing sux and shrinks your man card to the size of a pea, in actuality, there is nothing to it.

A physician claims these are actual comments from his patients made while he was performing colonoscopies:

1. "Take it easy, Doc, you're boldly going where no man has gone before."

2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?"

3. "Can you hear me NOW?"

4. "Oh boy, that was sphincterrific!"

5. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

6. "You know, in Arkansas, we're now legally married."

7. "Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?"

8. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out. You do the Hokey Pokey ..."

9. "Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!"

10."If your hand doesn't fit, you must acquit!"

11. "Hey, Doc, let me know if you find my dignity."

12. "You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?"

13. "Could you write me a note for my wife, saying that my head is not, in fact, up there?"
