A friend of mine got a Bersa .380 when in Oklahoma, but wasn't registered. He know lives in CA and would like to register it. Do any of yall know if it is possible and how to do it? He has a receipt for it.

I asked about that here and was told as long as he has the bill of sale, license, and his background check is good, then there shouldn't be a problem. I know we haven't had any trouble in VA after buying from gunshows in TN or SC. The laws there just have to be checked. A good place is the sheriffs office for question such as this or even check at your local pawn shop. They have this info as well.

Why would one want to register if they don't absolutely have to? Don't want the govt to know what I have.

The difference between having a registered weapon in the house and none that are registered was illustrated by the Gonzales thing under Clinton. With no weapons registered, the county shireff comes to the door in kakis and knocks with paper in his hands. With a registered weapon at the address, the SWAP van pulls up, tires screeching, thugs with guns leap out and anything that moves gets shot.

Out local city just got a new bomb robot. It cost a lot. So far, they have blown up two kids backpacks, a homemade New Years firework and a guys briefcase!
