From yet another wandering soul: Welcome to the Mountain where the breeze is always fresh and the flowers are always in bloom. To repeat a request, where in Virginia are you. I spent five years in Arlington and have a really neat 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser parked in a field in Mt Solan that I have to get up there and bring back down here. |

How far is that from Roanoke. I have ADHD so reading a map and a few other things are greek to me. I had a hard time learning Geography so I had cheat notes during my tests. I wish now I had not cheated. How many miles and what is Dryden close to?

Howdy Tami, Welcome to the mountain and look forward to talkin' with you. I'm up the road a piece from you in Dumfries --- Quantico VA. Used to date some girls from a little closer to you from Honaker, and played at Bristol many times over the years. |

Sunshine, Dryden is close to the Cumberland Gap in the corner of VA that points down between Kentucky to the north and Tennessee to the south. |

You are very right. I live about 25 miles from Cumberland Gap, KY, 35 miles from Kingsport, TN and Bristol is about 65 miles form here. I can be in Ashville, NC in about an hour and a half. So I am right in the middle of everything...LOL |

I once drove up from Middlesboro, KY on US 58 through that area and there was a waterfall right beside the road. I think it was somewhere before I got to Dungannon, VA. Do you know of a waterfall in that area? |

I have heard of the waterfall but can't say that I have ever really seen it. I can ask my husband. He is from this area. I am from Great Falls, SC and transplanted here. I shop a lot in Middlesboro. It is only about 45 minutes away and Dungannon is about 30 minutes away. |

Dang I just had a great idea Abidinhim - Since you're a Picker, think you could whup up a good ole Bluegrass style version of the Star Spangled Banner and get Mtnman to play it as music on the site? I would but I mussed my hand and can't pick no more. Imagine what it would sound like - banjo, dobro, lead, rhythym, and baritone 6 strings...... wouldn't it be sweet? Never heard it played Bluegrass before. (sorry if I put ya on the spot) |
