My daughters birthday was today. I guess she had a good birthday. I don't really know. She baked her own cake. I contributed money and took her treasure hunting at the Unclaimed Baggage store in Scotsboro, AL. She found some good stuff and the day was going OK as those days go. I have never been very good at birthdays, but try.

On the way back from UCB, we stopped at a place that sells frozen food to get some stuff for tomorrow night. We got the stuff we needed and by this time it is good dark. We started back to Gadsden and about 25 miles up the Interstate, I realized that I didn't have my newly obtained Palm Lifedsrive ($400.00!!!) on my belt. We pulled over and searched frantically for my new toy. it was no place to be found - I surely dropped it when we got back into the car as I fastened my seat belt at the food store. We got the receipt and called the store. Sure enough they had found it in the parking lot. They reported that it had been run over by the car. Well, Palm stuff is tough so we drove back to get it. it was some bruised up! We brought the poor injured thing home and my daughter offered her services as a surgeon. This is what was broken:

Miserable little plastic power switch!

Well, Marsha carved a new piece out and installed it while did the body and fender work on the unit:

$400.00 Palm Lifedrive in pieces

Well, the drive now works again. We had to salvage a display out of my older T3 ($300.00!!!) and the repair on the power lever didn't work, but we worked out a hack that does. Now my Lifedrive is back in business, but not a sleek and shiney as it was this morning! The Texas Holdem belt clip broke and released it! I got that from Lowes and it was supposed to be really tough - not so. Now I will be searching Ebay for a broken Lifedrive to get a new mobo from and a T-3 display! Meanwhile, thanks to my duaghters excellent techincal skills, I am able to use the PDA just fine. it really works as well as ever! Thankful for that!

Now, one of the family members is telling me that it is bed time:

Munch ready for bed!

I guess i will call it a day and hope for that good luck that follows bad tomorrow. Goodnight all. And, the folks that were argueing on the Soul to Soul thread that got it locked, tell me truly - Did you have a worse day than I did? Confess, you have been asleep for hours haven't you?

We fix pretty much everything. Keeps us active and we enjoy it a lot. Not so late at night though. I would have waited til today, but Marsha wanted to go ahead with the work. I have always found that I do my best work when I am fresh and not disgusted!

Hey Condor,

Well...I was asleep by 11:00 pm my time which I think is 1:00 am your time...so...yeah, I was just settling in for a night of relaxation and I woke up feeling rejuvinated. :D Sorry you had such a rough day, but it sounds like you had some good alone time with you daughter and those times are as we know, priceless! :)

I'm going to take my grandkids to see the movie, Nightime at the Museum, that should be fun because they're 7 & 9, just the right ages to identify with the movie.

Happy New Years to you and yours!

Sorry you had a bad day but at least you have your daughter and that means alot to you I am sure. I like your cat also. I still wish I had known you when I had to give my cat a new home. YOu would have loved him . He thought he was a person but then again all myanimals do. He would sit on the bathtub ledge and watch me take a shower and if I took a bath he would jump in. He loved to ride in the car. He would walk with me and wait for me at a friend's house and when he wanted me to come out he would stand up on his hind legs and look in the screen door. I hated having to give him away . He was a very special cat. He was a persian and very loving . I still miss him . A friend of mine found a home for him. He went to live with an elderly lady who was a widow and her son had just passed away. This was when I was in my 20s. I also had a kitten I found at a truck stop. I went to pick up a friend's paycheck for him and I heard a crying noice and I saw a black kitten under a truck . I took the kitten home and both cats were inseperable. Do you live in Florida by any chance? For some reason I am thinking you do. Happy New Year to you my friend. :)

Nope, I live in Alabama. Sorry you had to give up the cats. Ours are family members and they know it. We just had a friend over with his cat. She was fractous but our three were nice to her to the last minute. They are beautiful, fuzzy people! Our little girl cat will be someplace in the house and will notice me looking at her and will go "EEp!" and dash away. She is very girly. The two males are very outgoing and smart. We had dogs from when I was a kid. Once we got to know cats, we learned to love them for their independence and personalities. It is always a sad day when we lose one. We lost three last year. One we brought from Kiev, one that had been a family member since 1993 and another that Marsha picked up on the road. The last one was pregnant and was just getting comfortable with us and was looking forward to her expected kittens and died in birth. They were all sad situations. I certainly hope 2007 is better that way.

Phubar has that little French guy thing going. He doesn't know it or he would feel terrible. in his mind, he is george of the Jungle. We don't tell him that his walk is sort of girly.
