thank you to you and your family for your service, CR and sorry about any french remarks I may have made....    :(

Don't be sorry... I think that most french are assholes, that's why I moved from that hell hole. That's why I threw away my french citizenship when I became a proud US citizen. I might be harsher on the french than you are. :D

My dad was born and raised in Morroco from a Corsican settler's family. At that time, there were a lot of fine french people, my grampa's generation. Most were pro-American and my mom always remembered when she was 8 years old and the GIs rolling down the streets pushing the Nazis back where they came from. I was born and raised in Corsica, which is french territory, so I ended up serving in the french Army.

When I left europe 9 years ago, I think only 17% of the french were still supportive of the US. Like my family, I've always been a strong US supporter and I've been in a lot of arguments when I was younger. This is the main reason I moved to the country I love.

Truly great story!

Thanks for making this "redneck" feel good while signing off tonight.

Your son and yourself are true patriots!

You're fitting in here like a Red, White, and Blue flag in a Fourth of July Parade! smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

One of my Corps brothers was French. He got tired of struggling to make a living there and signed on a tramp steamer - worked his way across to Canada.
Worked as a waiter in Montreal, until he met an American family willing to take him across the border as one of their family.
When they reached New York he went to a Marine Corps recruiter and signed on. He served at the siege of KheSanh and got blown up.
For his service he was awarded American citizenship.
He's one of the hardest working, truest bluest Americans I know.
We could use more like him.
One of my uncles was 101st Airborne in Normandy, was surrounded by the SS at Bastogne, and was with them when they smashed their way into Germany and liberated a death camp.
We real proud of him.

First, thanks yall! :)

There are a fewer good folks in europe, and france, than it used to be. But there are still a few true allied of the US. They're usually stay quiet because they're the minority over there. Most of them left already, like I did.

Anyway, back to honoring our vets, which is more important. I want to thank everyone who served and still serve here. Yall are the greatest! smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

I spend my days picking up the pieces of other peoples lives, I can tell you this, it was only fate you were injured instead of someone else, that doesn't change one thing, but only proves how strong and valuable to others that you have got this far.
A lesser man would of given up.

And they do. Its far easier to die, than to live through what you have.

Sorry I have a weird SOH but......
I have never been blown up, but having been shot twice myself, I got to say being blown up must of hurt.

Man, you guys are the greatest!

Our vets ROCK! smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

All I did was get myself blown up - aint proud of it.  I screwed up and cost the American people tons of money keeping me alive. I don't deserve to own the uniform.
All I have to say.
Let these fellas that did it right have the floor.

You have the all the right in the world, don't ever think that you don't.

It's ok! I plan to kill a monster bull or huge cow in Colorado anyway! I'll get there before to long. Maybe after I retire? Maybe I'll give up the Colorado hunt one year to head to NM? I'll get there!!

glad to see you made it here!!! I have not received any emails from you in a while I figured you lost my email address in the move.
