Reduced loads are a lot of fun to practice, and kill small animals with. It is good to carry with you for when a squirrel may be killed.

Reduced loads are used to reduce recoil, noise, amount of powder being used, and
other reasons. If reduced loads is something that might appeal to you, might I
suggest that you buy a smaller caliber gun and not use reduce loads. The powders
made today are not designed or meant for reduced loads. They are designed and
meant for full powder charges.

The thing that always scared me about reduced loads is the scary chance for a double charge. :o A friend on yesterdays used to load them all of the time and one day he trashed a action because of a double throw. He doen't do that anymore. :D I was thinking about it but not anymore.

I've always been sure to doublecheck myself when I do any loading. It's just too easy to make a mistake if you don't. :D

I'll use a light load of IMR3031 and some 160 grain cast bullets when fire-forming cases for my 30-06 A.I. I'm not adverse at shooting some full power loads, but they seem to ruin the brass rather than re-form it. Onless maybe my brass is kinda old????? :thinking about it:
