Hello all,
My name is Deanna, I am a softspoken, liitle flower who loves to let people boss me around. NOT :rotfl:

Actually I know alot of people on this board from the CDB website. Almtnman I remember you from the CDB Forum.
I must admit I have never gone hunting but where I now live alot of people hunt. Two of my kids have already gone hunting so I'm sure my turn is not far away.

Even though I've not been hunting I do love Mountain Men so hopefully that gives me some brownie buttons.
Sunshine invited me here , and Hello to all. smiley-good-post-sign

Deanna, welcome to the forum. I hope that you like it here and yes there is a lot of people here that you will recognize. Glad to have you with us. smiley-welcome-sign

Faith, welcome aboard. Glad to have you here with us. We're looking forward to you posting here. smiley-welcome-sign

Maybe sometime later on that husband of yours can get you moved to the mountains, I'm sure all of your family would love it. I live on top of a mountain and when I come home, it's like going on a vacation everyday, nice quiet, secluded and scenic.

Thanks Linda. Good to see so many names I recognize. I agree it is sad to go to the CDB site though. It just isn't the same anymore. Look forward to some lively discussions.

Some topics are very important and are hard for some folks to talk about, but at least after a while folks settle down some and some things actually get said in a manner that makes the topic worth finishing.

I think we will be able to talk them through on here as long as we don't get totally crazy, well here they may just use a cattle prod and say; "now get back tah talk'n". :smarty: smiley-git-r-done

Thanks,

Duke

Hello,
I'm new here, too. You've never heard of me because I could never post on the CDB site. Something to do with my old computer, I think. Anyway, I'll introduce myself to all y'all.
I was born in Wichita, KS, but my family moved to TX when I was 18 months old, where we stayed 'till I was 4, so I learned to talk in TX. Back in KS 'till I was 18 and married a crazy man who enlisted in the army. Moved to Ft. Campbell, KY where my drawl came back big time, until my husband's death. Went a little crazy and moved to VA with some friends until my present husband drove up and married me, and drug me back to KS.
I was raised by a Southern Baptist Missionary/Circuit Preacher's daughter and a sinning Father. Kinda mixed me up some for a while, but through trials and troubles found my way to the Cross and developed a personal relationship with my Lord and Saviour.
I don't go to Church due to our most recent Church changing pastors every couple of years 'cause the Deacons think they can do it better. But I believe every word of the Bible and God controls my life.
I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. So far I have been lucky that they all are within a hour's drive of me. I still have one child in High School. She wishes I could home school her, though.
Not to get too wordy, that's me in a nut-shell, and I mean "nut"! ! ! :P

Toothless Granny, sounds to me like you came out alright after moving around and going through several different situations in your life. Have you thought about seeing if there's another church down the road or nearby that might be more to your liking. I have been through the same thing as you mention where a small group wanted the church run a certain way. We shopped around, visited several places and found us a church that we like much better.

You know I dropped into the CDB board to check PM’s and I reread the post left by Liska in the post where so many of us said by. As I reread it, it has a tone of “well so long” don’t let the door hit you in the a$$ to it! Almost like Thank God they are gone. Did any of you pick up on that??? Am I just sleepy??

Here is what she said.

Bsb and the rest,
Im not trying to be offensive.
Ihave nothing to do with what goes or stays on this site.
I was just commenting that out of MANY threads, only a few were about music.
I never would have taken the time to look all of those up and count them all.
But some one did.
They made the issue out of it, not me.
I just pointed out that 40 topics about music and the CDB and related threads in not very much in comparison to how many other subjects were on here.
I never complained to Bruce or Hokie, unless something was really foul.
Like swearing or sexual talk.
I guess this board is being used for a whole lot more than the CDB fan club.
Its bad enough when trolls come in to tear it up, but when our own are picking fights and back biting...im thinking it aint such a blessing.
We had a party for Great White....I think it was kinda fun, but it did get outta control in my opinion, but I never said anything about it.
Hoping folks would just police themselves.
Im not saying WHO is a better fan or yadda yadda, but when we do post topics that pertain to the cdb, folks come in an bury them in like 10 mins.
That is frustrating to me.
Im glad you all have Mt Man and Pastor Erick and other places to go, and hope it works out for you there.
Hopefully you will come back and say hello.
Im still prayin for you all.
God Bless,
Liska

GWEH, I dont think they really care, we were a small group on a great big website. I think Sunshine was the first one to post a message about the wipeout and them deleting your installments and I responded to that one, which by the way was deleted almost immeadiately. I haven't bothered to respond to the latest thread. I missed out on the block party and I was real sorry I did. I read thru the mosts of the posts and it looked like fun. I'm not sure where she thought it was getting out of control. The CDB website is a political website because Charlie has made it that way. My opinoin is that he made it that way so it would be a nice place for people of moslty like minds to discuss the issues of today and know they aren't alone out there as well as to rally his fans that share his beliefs to get up of our a$$es and do something.

Iwill be away from a computer for a few days while I travel, but I wanted to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. May we all remember what we are truly thankful for, and especially remember our military far away from home. Their actions allow us to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving in a free nation!

I'll check back in around Sunday sometime!

I enjoyed the"Block Party " and I did not see where it got out of hand either. I will be the first to tell you I enjoyed the fun posts . I am not going to post on that forum again because I refuse to walk on eggshells . I would rather someone be upfront with me than go behind my back like Hokie did. I heard all about it and do not appreciate it one bit. I respect those that are upfront with me and don't beat around the bush. I don't want anyone to walk on eggshells with me. You all rock. smiley-patriotic-flag-wave :banana-man: smiley-git-r-done

I also feel the moderator that deleted GWEH's post should be very ashamed of what they did. In case you are lurking Mr. Moderator I have one thing to say to you.

SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to our Veterans we have our freedom . DON"T EVER Forget it either.

Thank you Mr. Almtnman for this great forum. You rock. smiley-patriotic-flag-wave

Hi all.
bsb and ligitlinda both sent me this link. Thanks for the invite.
:two-cents:
For those that don't know me:
Born and raised in the mountains of south western Oregon. Town so small that the 2 bars took turns being open on week nights and they turned the street lights off at 11 on week days and 3 on Fri and Sat. :rotfl:
I'm 57, married to the same woman for 37 years (she is either a saint or too dumb to know better, I believe the saint.), retired from the USMC in 2005 with over 30 years, 2 sons, 7 grand daughters (3-13).
I'm VERY conservative, have been since I cashed a paycheck and saw that a third of it went to withholdings. Then I'm at the grocery store and there is a guy that smells of pot cashing a welfare check and paying for groceries with food stamps.

:blablabla: :blablabla: :blablabla: That pretty well sums up my life. I'm sure that details will come out in the future as I am very out spoken and use my experiences to justify my ideas. Yeah, I know. :blablabla: :blablabla: :blablabla:

Hi Herb,

Welcome. It's so nice to see familiar faces around here. My sister lives in Oregon. Medford to be exact. I know that is the south, but don't think it's completely west.

Are you right near the coast?

Welcome aboard. Loved what you said about your wife. :lol2:

I thought I'd posted a "Hello" on this site. Lost it somewhere.

I "Made the Trip" as the old CB lingo used to go.

I personally plan on continuing to check into the CDB site. I'll echo already said comments, it's their site, they get to choose what's on it.

I'm still a Charlie Daniels fan. I like his music, I like the show they put on, and I like how they enjoy doing it.

That being said. And I'm sure none of you have figured this out yet, I'm an opinionated, talkitive old cuss.

I like having a site where I can post, and read, about different topics.

I keep an open mind to new ideas, without opening my mind up so far my brains fall out.

I decided long ago that when "They" say there's one in every crowd, I'd do my best not to be that "One" in my crowd. I'll also do my best not to be that "One" in this crowd.

So, I think I'll kick back, brew up a :coffee: and enjoy exploring this site.

I will say though, the little emoticon about PETA sucks smiley-peta-sucks-sign kinda surprised me. I'd pay dues to "People Eating Tasty Animals" and be a card carrying member! :garfield:
