i went to see ian shackleford almost 6 years ago now he is a nice guy and easy to get on with and very honest .he was the only guy to touch my spine after 5 other surgeons refused to .the reason they all refused was due to the damaged done from previous spinal operations done over the last 20 years .ian told me that its very unlikely that i would even be pain free and 5 years since the multi level ALIF i am sad to say he was right .i have developed complex regional pain syndrome .CRPS thats a nasty problem .i wish that i could have seen ian for my FIRST operation then maybe i would have stood a better chance ?? as things are i am ill i am in pain all the time and things are no better now than they ever have been .i hate the life that i have been dealt and i am sick of making the most of things .ian is a good consultant but even he has his limitations .i wanted ADR but was refused due to the damage already done to my spine .ALIF was the only option .a nasty operation with a very long recover time i was told 3 years .but 5 years on and the adjacent disks are failing a recent MRI has shown the disks above the ALIF are in trouble . |
| in pain 24/7 virtually house bound and waiting for an ALIF operation with MR S ... | |
