Facet Joint Technology??; Latest up-to-date information??

I'm trying to find out about the latest information on facet joint technology available. I heard about Mr Sutcliffe and facet joint replacement but not sure how good the results were. Trying to contact his secretary about it. Also saw WP Kat's thread on facet joint resurfacing but to date she hasn't replied of the improvements she had as far as I can see.

Currently I'm on the waiting list for a trial with SCS for facet joint problems at T10-L2 and L4-S1.

I've got increasingly disabled with it over the past 5+ years and am in a bad way now. I only leave the house to go to medical appointments and when I go to the hairdressers as I can't wash my hair as using my arms flares things up at T10-L2. Each time I go out I'm flared up badly for a good 7-10 days.

Anybody got any information??

Mr Sutcliffe has been lecturing on the facet joints replacement but it's not been approved by NICE so he is unable to do the procedures that he wants.

Originally this started in Israel and the different sorts of facet joint is being done across in Germany and Austria which is not as good
best,
Alastair :-)

I rang Mr Sutcliffe's secretary at the London Spine Clinic and according to her he is doing FJ replacement using TOPS there but that is a private set up. It's too far for me to commute on my own as I'm very disabled with FJ pain and my insurance doesn't cover spine degeneration. I asked if he knew of any other surgeons using it. Don't know anybody using FENIX in the UK that WPKat had done.

This looks amazing! http://www.wfmz.com/lifestyle/Health-Beat/...-spine/30797888
Does anyone know if there is a clinical trial in the UK for this?
It does look like the options for surgery are getting better, with stem cell research too, one day 'I hope' these sorts of operations will be available to everyone.
I just wish I could afford to plunge straight in, the pain drives me mad.

No clinical trials in this country as far as I know, facet joints are an enigma and should be approached with great caution
best,
Alastair :D
