Good day Right now I am pre-fusion, pre-adr. I have had an inversion table for the last 3 weeks or so. I think it is amazing. It has helped reduce the numbness/tingling in my right foot. If I go ahead and get the recommended fusion at S1-L5 and ADR at L5-L4, will I ever be able to hang upside down again? It makes sense to me once everything has healed fully that decompression might be a good thing to do every day. Andy |

I think once you get your surgery done you'll be too busy having a good time in making a good recovery to be hanging upside down but you certainly can go in version Post surgery if you wish but you won't find it makes any difference. If your surgery is okay then you'll be 100% and not need to do anything except just make a slow and steady recovery. Quite a lot of people when they feel so much better do foolish things and have a setback for some months but if you take it slow and steady you should be absolutely fine Best Alastair

The reason I ask is that there seems to be enough talk saying that negative pressure on a sick or healthy disc might be a very good idea as it promotes infusion of nutrients, water, and whatever else it requires from the end plates (or wherever it comes from). I do not want more of my discs degenerating and if i can slow this natural aging process or stop it by hanging upside down, then I am going to do it if my post-op back will allow me (not right away, in a year or more).
