There are physiotherapists out there who do know what they are doing and they are usually attached to the surgeon who you had your surgery with.

Physiotherapy usually STARTS after 6 weeks at the earliest so please don't go rushing to find someone. We do have a list of physiotherapists but usually the surgeon has his own physiotherapists who are trained in special techniques to help you following surgery

Thanks for your replies. Feel I am getting better and getting more sleep ther is one thing I am frustrated with is my thumb is very sensitive and I fet burning pain and tingling wondered if this will settle down? Unfortunatly my incision were staples were put in and taken out on the 5 day and the nurse who did this was reluctant to taken them and told the consultant they should stay in for at least 10 days but he was adamant they should be taken out. However I noticed it was weeping and my practise nurse took a swab and also pointed out the staples shouldnt have been taken out until ten days at least. The incision is now infected and GP prescribed antibiotics. It did surprise me with surgeon insisting the staples come out when at the e.d of the day it is the nurses who do the aftercare.
