Hi all,

Would just love to share the news that I'm 7 months pregnant and due to have my baby exactly 2years and 1 week after having my ADR op!!!

I have to tell you that I'm in no pain, and taking no pain killers as well. I never thought I would have such a good pregnancy after all the problems I had and the pain I was in every day for many years before my operation. I expect labour will be a different story lol, but I'm definately not worried or concerned - and thats just because I know I can cope well with pain because of the previous years with my back!

I hope my posting this will help all women who suffer with their back but still wish to start a family in the future.

Louise (aged 30)

18.10.07 - IDET - painful and unsuccesful
02.04.09 L5/S1 disc replacement - Prodisc
currently all is well after 15 yrs of pain!!!

Congratulations, Louise. That is brilliant news. :D I am a grandmother now and will never get pregnant again but I am sure it gives hope to women who have had ADR and wonder if it is possible to carry a baby.

I wish you well.

Thank you, yes this is my first baby and I'm so excited. I used to constantly worry that when I did want to become pregnant I would end up in bed because I thought the pain of carrying one would be a nightmare. I've proved that wrong so far. My operation was the best thing I've ever done, I feel like I have a whole new life for myself, especially with a baby on the way!

How lovely for you Louise and thanks for giving encouragement to any other girls who may worry about carrying a baby after ADR. I had both my children before I injured my back 20 years ago and there was hardly any treatment then, so it was a major reason why I didn't have any more, though I was happy with my two. Hope all goes well for you in the coming months and let us know when you have had the baby, when you get chance!!!
