My new pelvis is taking some getting used to. I have been doing short walks up and down the road this last week to start building my stamina and confidence. I have been putting empty envelopes in the post box as an excuse to walk to the post box and back and today i walked a little further. I get pain on the left side on walking and am really slow on my crutches but i really want to attempt to get more mobile. Sitting only gets uncomfortable if i am sat for too long and the pain is bearable, i have a scary journey on the underground in 3 weeks which i am building up to because i have my follow up in the city & have to travel in the morning rush hour. Coping ok in general but i think it's going to be a bit of a slow one this time which can't be rushed. My mum has been waking up in pain again which is not a good sign, she has her scan in 4 weeks so we'll find out then if she needs more chemo. I just hope that the pain is coincidental this time because we could both do with a year off this year. Mark. |

Yes Mark, you are right, you both need a rest from pain and having to have treatment for it, do so hope it is a good outcome from the scan for your mum. As you say for yourself; think things will be a slow process for you with your recovery and well done on getting out there and getting a little further each time. Patience is a virtue with recovery as I have discovered myself. Hope you manage ok with your journey to hospital. No chance of a lift or booking an ambulance? It seems a big difference walking to the post box to going across town on the underground. Though I suppose you have a little time, and I don't honestly know the situation on booking ambulances - but you are disabled at the moment. Might be worth a phone call. Keep up the good work, Mark. Love Gilly xxx |

Oh i know what you mean Gilly, but the station at this end is only 2 roads from me, then at the other end i just cross the road outside the station to get to the hospital so it does not really involve much walking, most of it is sitting on the train.... provided someone gives me a seat in the rush hour. lol Mark. |
