Well tomorrow will be 3 weeks to be precise and i have felt much less surgery pain this week. Going to be bound to the crutches until the end of march so i just have to live with that. My only issue at the moment is that i have developed nerve pain in my right foot post surgery & it feels like i have burned myself because it stings at the slightest touch but i am really wary of using any medication for nerve pain after the problems Gabapentin caused with my liver. I think mobility is going to be slow this time. I went out the garden just to get some fresh air for a couple of minutes but found walking further than indoors made me ache a bit. In general i am not going to rush this one and will let it take however long it takes to get back to normal. Still very early days anyway and my pelvis all feels a bit new still. Mark. |
| Chronic back pain around 12 years, after numerous failed epidurals, facet joint injections, nerve blocks, discograms etc i am finally on the waiting list for surgery. Yay! My hybrid surgery is now booked for 11th Feb 2009. 11th feb 09 double fusion L5/s1 L4/5 & dynamic stabilization L3/4 at Stanmore UK, Mr Lester Wilson. 5th Feb 2010 nerve ablasion of both sacroiliac joints. Just had bilateral sacroiliac fusions on 9th Dec 2010. | |

Hi Mark I really feel for you mate not been able to take nerve pain suppressors. Like others have said you are going to have to take things REAL EASY cos once things get inflamed the muscles and nerves get into a viscious cycle and its difficult to break. Have you tried Acupunture or Osteopathy? Although don't try the latter just yet- but it may help you break the cycle of the pain which the meds do. Go steady and best wishes Carl |

Spine problems since I can remember.
