2 Level Lumbar Disc Replacement; 2 Weeks On

Hi All,
Well 2 weeks into 2 levels of Lumbar Disc Replacement (L4/5 & L5/S1). So far so good. Am really hampered in my exercise regime by the weather - we've still got 10" or so of snow since Friday last week - so walking outside is really a non starter. From what I am doing and was doing, I think I would have been confident of being up around the 0.5 miles a day mark by now at least.
No residual problems, back is pretty sound, didnt sleep last night but have slept fine for the last few days at least. Dressing off now, not sure what I thought the dressing was doing towards "holding me together" but it was a great comforter - I am now worrying its about to split open although I know it wont !
Medication wise, am really down to still using Fentanyl for now, then a couple of diclofenac and a couple of paracetemol a day now.
First physio yesterday was cancelled by Hosp because of weather and re scheduled for today - weather no better so we'll see what happens.
Only slightly strange side effect of all of this is since my surgery my feet and fingers have become extremely dry with flaking skin - any suggestions ?

Its early days but I am pleased with progress.

Best Wishes to all for christmas and new year.

Andy

Hi Andy

Wouldn't worry about missing the physio as it seems a bit early anyway, and don't worry about the time lost walking outside, just pottering inside is good at this stage anyway - you will catch up in time. ~Everyone seems to have this problem with dry skin, would rub on some E45 as this is good just getting to the feet is the problem!!!
Wish you all the best with your recovery.
